Today we jumped in a plane and flew to Columbus just to grab some BBQ ribs! John and I headed to Discover Aviation to grab the Cessna 172 and took off from Lorain County Airport, which is near Cleveland. There’s an amazing restaurant called JP’s at Bolton Airfield, right outside Columbus. On the way down we flew right over "The Shoe" which is THE Ohio State University football stadium. This Cessna has been completely overhauled. Brand new engine, prop, avionics and more. The autopilot on this bad boy is amazing! I truly have grow to love high wing planes and this is no exception. Once we got to JP’s we were greeted with open arms. They saw our cameras and immediately got exited. We got the “First Class Platter” which had ribs, wings, pulled pork, bone in chicken, baked beans, potatoes and a million sides. If you’re even in Columbus, please check them out. MARZO/AGOSTO 2020 A marzo 2020 eravamo in Nuova Zelanda per una breve vacanza in camper quando siamo rimasti bloccati a causa del Covid. L' Australia ha chiuso improvvisamente i confini e noi non siamo potuti rientrare sulla nostra barca Obiwan. Abbiamo atteso 6 mesi l'apertura della bubble tra Australia e Nuova Zelanda. Assieme agli amici Ale e Max di Y2K siamo stati ospiti di Dina e Andries nel loro confortevole Airbnb e poi per due mesi abbiamo occupato la comoda cabina di prua di Y2K. Alla fine siamo dovuti rientrare in Italia per attendere che la situazione covid migliorasse.

Panama ist berühmt und berüchtigt für die ständig aufkommenden Gewitter. Auch wir erlebten diese zum Teil sehr heftigst bereits auf der Atlantikseite. Und auf der Pazifikseite ist es leider nicht viel besser. Auf unserem Weg gen West wurden wir von diversen Gewitterfronten geradezu umzingelt. We adopted a lil dude from the streets of Mexico over Christmas.

Kurz nach dem Saisonstart in 2022 stellte ich nach einem kleinen Trading fest: da ist ein Riss in meinem Deck. Ob nun bedingt durch falsches Handlung des Bootes oder die bestehende Delaminierung des Decks, ich war erst einmal geschockt und deprimiert. Nach einigen Telefonaten und viel hin und her entschied ich mit den Finn zu Helge Wolpers in die Bootsmanufaktur Lüneburg zu fahren. Mit Helges Arbeiten an meiner Sprinta Sport war ich immer zufrieden und da es bei Helge immer nett ist dachte ich: auf geht's! Das Ergebnis ist top und on top habe ich wieder ordentlich was gelernt. und wissen über Bord und die Konstruktion kann ja auch auf dem Wasser nicht schaden. Aber sehr selbst was wir aus GFK und Carbon gebastelt haben.

Am 21. November 1915 sank die Endurance, nachdem sie durch das Packeis im Weddelmeer zerdrückt worden ist. Das Schiff des bekannten Polarforschers Sir Ernest Shackleton galt als verschollen, bis es am 5. März 2022 von einer Expedition in 3.008 Meter Tiefe entdeckt wurde.
