We’re back for our second episode of the season and the ocean wasted no time testing us 🥴 This passage from Tangalooma to (intended) Double Island was one of our most challenging sails yet. But amidst the chaos, we know that the adventure for the next year ahead will help soothe our stress wounds, and from every hard passage comes growth. Dolphins bow riding helps a lot too 😝 Come aboard as we sail headfirst into season two - slightly saltier, still learning and somehow still loving every second of it!! **Cos'è l'ancora galleggiante e a cosa serve davvero? --- ### Come funziona? The high speed, short course action of SailGP is thrilling to watch, but inevitably causes tight situations and means the Umpires have to react quickly to decide who is right and who is wrong. Arguably, the most controversial decision of the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth was in Race 6, as the Canadian Northstar SailGP team gybed on to starboard towards Gate 2 on the second leg, together with Rockwool Denmark, coming in towards Emirates GBR SailGP Team and Australian's BONDS Flying Roos to the right of them. The Flying Roos were penalised, which infuriated Driver Tom Slingsby, so I spoke with SailGP's Chief Umpire Craig Mitchell to find out how the decision was made and why the Australians were found to be in the wrong, together with views of the incident from multiple angles and UmpApp's tracking of the boats. Have a watch and tell us whether you think this call was right or wrong. #sailgp #portsmouth #sailing #umpire

Good thing we are just about ready to leave so we might as well start out this adventure with a full on systems test! Anchoring through the night can be nerve-racking and sleepless. With my AnchorZone app you simply draw a circle around your boat. This creates a geofence. If your boat ever drifts outside that zone the alarm goes off. Simple and effective.

The projects are getting bigger, the weather less forgiving, and the itchy fiberglass never seems to end-but we're pushing forward, one step at a time. Daily squalls keep us soaked, sweaty, and scrambling, but each completed project brings us closer departure. This is what I refer to as a 'life change' boat. It's a serious vessel that would be perfect for those of you who are enjoying a life changing point in where time is on your side and adventure or a completely new lifestyle awaits. The Endurance 680 by Hampton Yachts is perfect for serious boaters with live aboard dreams and long distance adventures in mind. This is a vessel that can be managed by a couple but will also tackle serious offshore conditions and in many cases the passengers will not even spill their coffee. This is exactly what many people perceive a 'proper yacht' should look like and she delivers as one would expect. I think the biggest take away from my day testing the Endurance 680 is just how relaxed you feel after a day out in big breeze. This is not an exhausting vessel to operate and despite her size you could argue that it's actually quite a relaxing experience. I hope you enjoy. Use code ATTICUS at the link below and get 60% off an annual plan: https://incogni.com/atticus This week, we bring in the big machines and launch a massive excavation project—moving tons of dirt to carve out a build site on our steep mountain property. With flat land nearly impossible to find in the Smokies, we took a gamble buying this ridge-heavy lot. But now that excavation is in full swing, we’re finally seeing that gamble pay off. After crossing the mighty Gulf of Carpentaria, we’ve made landfall in Gove—also known as Nhulunbuy—on the remote coast of the Northern Territory. In this episode, we head ashore to visit our friend Rick, a town local who roasts his own coffee beans right at home. This week aboard SV GOAT, we continue our exploration of the incredible Euboean Gulf—sailing north from Megalonisi through mountainous waters, unpredictable winds, and hidden treasures. Our first destination is Loutra Edipsou, one of the most iconic spa towns in Greece. Known since antiquity, its natural hot springs have been drawing visitors for centuries. These geothermal waters—rich in minerals and flowing at temperatures ranging from 34°C to over 70°C—bubble up right on the seashore, offering the surreal experience of bathing in thermal pools while surrounded by the Aegean landscape. Once believed to have healing powers by Aristotle and favored by ancient warriors, this place feels like stepping into Greek mythology. Just as we began to unwind, the weather had other plans. A completely unforecasted southerly wind rolled into the bay overnight, bringing with it a sharp 50 cm swell that turned our peaceful anchorage into a rocking rollercoaster. No damage, just very little sleep—a classic “sporty night,” as seasoned sailors say. The next day, we headed further north to the port town of Oreoi, a quiet but historically rich harbor tucked in northern Euboea. Once an important ancient city-state, Oreoi today is a simple, functional stop for cruisers like us—great for refueling and provisioning. During our stay, Max jumped in to help a fellow sailor whose anchor failed under sudden gusts. With strong teamwork, we helped him re-anchor and med-moor safely. It’s this kind of unspoken camaraderie that makes the sailing community so special. With our tanks full and spirits high, we sailed onward to the remote Limnionas Beach. Surrounded by steep cliffs and pine forests, this sheltered bay is the definition of a hidden paradise. Crystal-clear waters, rich marine life, and absolute silence—except for the breeze in the rigging—made this the perfect spot to anchor and relax. For two nights, it was just us and the stars. IN THIS EPISODE: – A healing stop at the world-famous thermal springs of Loutra Edipsou – A restless night of rolling swell and unforecasted winds – Sailing to Oreoi and lending a hand during a med-mooring mishap – Discovering Limnionas Beach: a wild and private anchorage – Reflecting on the mix of ancient history and raw nature that makes sailing Greece so magical FOLLOW OUR JOURNEY Instagram Sailing & Tech: @sailing_svgoat Instagram Lifestyle: @nobodysride TAGS #SailingSVGOAT #LoutraEdipsou #OreoiHarbor #LimnionasBeach #SailingGreece #GreekIslands #EuboeanGulf #HotSpringsGreece #LiveaboardLife #SailingAdventure #RemoteAnchorages #BoatLifeGreece Let me know if you want this tailored for Instagram, or if you'd like a thumbnail title or narration script for this episode.

As a sailor, until you master these 3 things, you’ll struggle to become a complete and confident sailor: 1) technical craft, 2) physical fitness, 3) mental fitness Technical Craft * sailing, like motorcycling, is one of those sports that is largely dependent on a machine! It is easier to underestimate the human/physical component of the sport, with so much emphasis on the machine - the boat!

We sail & inspect this Lagoon 420 Catamaran in Cyprus. We look at the inside, outside, and take it out on the water. This boat is known to have huge live aboard space, so see for yourself what that looks like.. What do you think, should we buy it? Is this the boat that we will sail around the World?? I must admit, some of our inspiration comes from Sailing La Vagabonde, Sailing Zatara, Sailing Holly Blue, and World Towning.. although we've been talking about sailing around the world for about 3 years now.. it suddenly is coming a lot closer, and fast!! If you are interested in sailing catamarans, or the cruising lifestyle, we love to talk about it, so leave us a comment, or connect using one of our other social media profiles, we are also on Facebook and Instagram for the biggest fans! We're hitting pause on boat work and getting back to what we actually signed up for - sailing! We're kicking off our first season on the Tube a little early so that we can keep things moving (the blessing and curse of having a backlog of footage). We're sailing from Ballina to Tweed Heads for the first passage of our second season up North as novice sailors. You might spot a few upgrades onboard...yep, that’s a new (second hand) autopilot. Keep an eye out for our upcoming mini-series where we show you how we built and installed it…using second-hand parts we scrounged up online in true NKOTD style 😝 We hope you enjoy this episode - sailing with whales and Christopher Cross! ABOUT OUR BOAT: - Innerbloom. Previously named Nui. We took off a letter and added a few. Innerbloom is a homage to a song beloved by us from an Australian electronic band, Rufus Du Sol. - 1985 Joe Adams design. 35ft. Steel. Fin keel. Sloop rig. Around 12 tonnes. - Aft cabin, centre cockpit and a v-berth brimming with tools, equipment and vitamins for Sonya. We’re a little behind on our videos - we’re just having too much fun! So to connect with us in real time you can find us on our new FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551024568844 For ad-free and early release episodes, behind the scenes content and live updates, check out our Patreon! Your support allows us to continue to create videos and maintain our home, Innerbloom - keeping the adventure alive.
