A giant conclusion to the RC44 Cascais World Championship, with 20+ knot winds and 2m high seas, was a three horse race that culminated in Vladimir Prosikhin's Team Nika claiming the title ahead of Vladimir Liubomirov's Bronenosec Sailing Team and Igor Lah's Team CEEREF. "I feel very good - we sailed good today and I really enjoyed it," said Prosikhin, dripping after being 'coaxed' into a victor's swim in Marina de Cascais. "It is my first ever World Championship win. It was a long, long way up and now we get to keep the 'Golden Wheels' [fitted to the RC44 Championship Tour leader's boat]. We are also World Champions and we still have a chance to win the season." Competition in the 2015 RC44 Championship Tour continues with the RC44 Virgin Gorda Cup over 25-29th November. This will be another mega-battle, particularly between friends and arch-rivals, Team Nika and Bronenosec Sailing Team, at present separated by just one point.

Chris Bake returned to the RC44 Class in resounding fashion for the first time in almost a year with a 1-2 result launching his Team Aqua up the leaderboard from 8th to 4th place overall at the RC44 Cascais World Championship. However it was also a high scoring day for the top teams with Bronenosec Sailing Team, yesterday's leader, putting in a 10-5, while, for Team CEEREF, a second place in race one allowed her to take a comfortable lead, but a subsequently 12th place finish in the second race caused her then to plummet to third overall. Going into the brisk final day of racing Team Nika is the overall leader holding a six point lead over Bronenosec.​

The community of Olal in North Ambrym has welcomed visitors to it’s famous “Back to my roots” Festival since over 10 years. This event happens yearly in mid to late August. Check with Tourism office for exact schedule. This 3-day festival includes chief grading ceremony with pig killing as well as the unique “rom dance”. A second improvement day for LINO SONEGO Team Italia in Istanbul, where the best multihull specialists in the world fight it out in Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series ™, supported by Yandex. The Italian team has shown they can improve on a day with challenging weather conditions. The Italians has responded well with two second places of today. This raise the hopes for the rest of this Act, before returning to Italian home waters, for Barcolana in Trieste. The Wave, Muscat still dominates in front of SAP Extreme Sailing Team and Oman Air. For Red Bull Sailing Team the tree broke has compromised the whole day, but tomorrow they will be back to race. Stay tuned... enjoy the show!

Cascais came good for day three of racing at the RC44 Cascais World Championship in Portugal with the wind pipping up into the high teens making for formidable action between the 12 elite teams competing. Three races were held with three individual winners in Artemis Racing, Team Nika and finally Team Aqua by which time the wind had built to 20 knots causing a few boats to broach out. At the close of play, the podium is formidably tight with two points separating the World Championship’s new leader, Bronenosec Sailing Team from this morning’s leader, Igor Lah’s Team CEEREF, with today’s top scorer Vladimir Prosikhin’s Team Nika in between.
