We make a pre-dawn start on a 45 mile sail south from Chalong Bay. As we head clear of Phuket, the Indian Ocean swell is met by strong easterlies, giving us a fast and wet sail to Koh Rok Nok, yet another of our favourite islands in Thailand. Those easterlies build as we head for an even faster sail south east to the Butang archipelago, a stunning group of islands which forms part of the Tarutao National Park. Millie has the best freshy-fishy supper in ages! Specifically she wants to see Atlas, the worlds largest underwater sculpture (worlds largest for now). We're anchoring at JAWS beach in the West Bay of New Providence island. This island is the most populated island of all of the Bahamas so of course we'll have to re-provision before heading off. We've heard about this fresh grocery store in Nassau and we have to visit. We meet a couple new friends, do some snorkeling and have an all around jam packed 3 days before a big blow comes to push us out of paradise...but I guess that's life on the water. Right in the first couple of weeks after delivery of Greatcircle in Bordeaux the cat was tested in some challenging conditions. Flying from Gibraltar to Ibiza with over 50 knots of wind in the back. May have broken the all time speed record with a Lagoon with 27,2 knots.... Very happy to have an experienced skipper on board in the beginning so we could experience how well the 52S handles even in conditions like this. Since then Greatcircle has been cruising the Med and we recently decided to join the ARC at the end of 2019.
