A new sailing class is hitting the West coast of the U.S in 2017 The Pac52 is a 52’ monohull sailboat. They are a carbon fiber hull built out of a latest generation TP52 hull mold. Each boat is fitted with a carbon fiber mast, boom, carbon fiber rigging and a fixed steel keel fin with a lead bulb. With a Spartan interior they have basic accommodations for coastal and offshore sailing. The single rudder can be either tiller or wheel steered. The class will race in a one design format, without any rating or time allowance. This is accomplished with a Box rule which utilizes the ORR Measurement system to equalize the boats. Today we had the great fortune to do a collaboration with Nathan (Nate) Porter! Nate’s channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVAhjvw55vzX2PF_WOr2vOg) is chock full of epic drone footage of the Colorado wilderness taken with his trusty DJI Mavic Pro drone. In a tiny Mexican town, we work against all odds to successfully build a stitch and glue nesting dinghy, the Fishbote 11 by Bateau Boats. As novices, we learn quite a bit about resin and fiberglass as our dinghy comes together. Being in a remote location, we have to do a bit of searching for suitable materials, improvising when we can’t find what we need and struggling with a less than ideal workspace and conditions. However, in the end, it all comes together. This is the first of a three-part series. We officially bought a BIG ASS BOAT! We take the kids and the dog up to see the catamaran sailboat – a Lagoon 410 owner version - for the first time at St Augustine marine center. Once we get to the marina we discover that we have shore power and decide to stay aboard up there. We end up making several trips back and forth from Vero Beach to St. Augustine to bring up things we need. The family starts getting acquainted with the boat life and living aboard a sailboat. We start various projects to upgrade the vessel and become familiar with her systems while we wait for the bottom paint to be done. We do research to pick out a new genset and new toilets. We decide to get a Kohler 6kw gentset to replace the Onan 9kw and Raritan toilets to replace the factory Jabsco toilets and will order those soon. And we start taking measurements for several projects we need to get done. We are able to start the baby-proofing process and start locking down the dangerous cabinets and lockers aboard. Our adventure of boat ownership and entrepreneurship has officially begun. There is a lot to do and a lot to learn before we can set sail, and we are under time lines with the new sailing business venture. We are keeping very busy juggling everything right now and the vlogging is one of the things that has taken a back seat. We are trying to keep up with it though! We are so excited and grateful that everything is finally coming together and that it is really happening and at the same time completely overwhelmed. For 2017 we have refined the current design to make small but important improvements. A little less roach on the upper leech, lowers the aspect ratio once again to give better control, speed and acceleration. Camber rotation is always at the fore front of our minds and we have focused on improving camber rotation especially in the lowest section of the sail. This week the weather was good enough to anchor by the Tintamarre, the island which is located very close to the St. Martin. It got mentioned on a list of my preferred anchorages. Jack also finished his whisker pole. It took him almost a week, manually making ends smaller in order to fit those fittings on ends. We were very happy to rescue a dinghy of our "neighbor". It was floating in a middle of the lagoon with nobody around. According to the current Jack calculated to who this dinghy might belong, and he was right. The very next day our "neighbor" brought us a gift. We are an international couple - Jack (from France), Kateryna (from Ukraine). We have been crossing this wonderful life together since 10 years. Finally (after many years of dreaming) we are living a "true" life. We have a plan to sail across all oceans (almost), and will be happy to share this adventurous lifestyle with you! This year's Helly Hansen Women's Challenge continued a five year long ‘tradition’ of being held in very mixed conditions with Sydney's wet weather spell lingering, bringing bright sun and full gloom alternately to the fleet of 25 yachts on different parts of the course. Little Nico was first over the line and won Division 1 on PHS, Division 2 being taken by Moonraker and Division 4 comprising the Yngling fleet was won by Miss Pibb in the Female Helm category. In the All Female Crew category, Division 1 on PHS was won by Local Hero and Sassy took out Division 2.

Einahnd-Segeltörn mit einer Neptun 24 KS von Bremerhaven über die Weser nach Elsfleth und nach einer Übernachtung weiter ... (zweiter Film-Teil) ... nach Bremen-Grohn. Von hier gehe ich die Bremer Innenstadt erkunden. Wegen weiteren Schlechtwetter-Vorhersagen fahre ich bereits am nächsten Tag Nonstop zurück nach Bremerhaven. - Ahio... Decidimos largar tudo e viver uma aventura, morar fora, conhecer praias e navegar pelo mar. Nossa volta ao mundo começou em Santos e agora somos mais um dos brasileiros pelo mundo.
