With the crews of the Racer/Cruiser & Trailable classes sitting much closer to the water the sight of them skimming the seas ahead of the larger boats made us appreciate how long a race it was for these divisions.

Day 1 of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week saw the fleet blast north to the Molle Islands. The four Reichel Pugh girls - Wild Oats XI, Black Jack 100, Alive & Nano, aka Wild Oats X driven by HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark - which comprise 66% of the IRC fleet caught our eye flying north at speeds up to 25 knots and giving our chase boat driver a real challenge to stay in touch.

Amazing Maldives trip to Jumeirah Vittaveli in December 2016. Stingrays visit daily for the feeding session, and the house reef is great for snorkeling and scuba diving. Nice dive centre as well and some good dive sites around the area. Rooms are fantastic. Shot in GoPro 4 Silver @ 1080p 60fps. This was a GoPro Quik video edit.

One thing we love about travelling is that you meet so many people and in the most random ways. The German couple we hitchhiked with in the previous episode invited us for a road trip around Bonaire. We go Geocaching, spot Flamingos and surfers. Then it’s time to say goodbye to Bonaire and sail to Curacao where we get greeted by a sailboat at sea who escorts us to the anchorage. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. Back in South Africa visiting family and friends our You Tube followers are asking us to post more videos. Heidi’s Great Uncle acquired the car in 1961 from Bill Boeing Jr. (son of the founder of Boeing aerospace in Seattle). It is an interesting and fun story! In this episode, Heidi will take you from the purchase of the barely used car all the way up to just before Franny and Heidi both go out to Boston to rediscover the car. In Puerto Escondido it’s all about the W’s… water and winches. We make many trips in the dinghy to fill up our tanks with potable water from jerry cans, and Ty works on trying to disassemble and service one of our main winches. Then, it’s back out to Isla Carmen to get in the water and cool down before sailing to Loreto, performing a lantern rescue mission, and stocking up on supplies. ________________ We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures.
