In this episode we continue our voyage from Kustavi directly to Uusikaupunki, where nearby my mother lives and we visit her and her golden retriever Helky. Also we experience exotic sauna and major failure with extensive overdose of ice cream. We could not sail during our voyage, due to lack of wind. Weather was nice and sunny but some how chilly. Varpu found a place where it was hot but where I had to be steering, it was freezing. It is incredible what kind of surprising weather conditions seafaring can offer. We found that Uusikaupunki was celebrating it´s 400th birthday, and to honor that we paid visit to car museum. Museum can be found next to Uusikaupunki car factory, where Mercedes Benz A- series is built. Few years ago Porches also.

In last weeks video we actually left the dock. Was I nervous, yes a little bit because I wasn't sure how well everything would work. The reality is that it was cautious excitement. It was great to drive the boat, sail her and just enjoy feeling her on the open water. 3 years. 3 years. We lost our spinnaker virginity which is a baptism of fire! These sails are not easy to fly and require much more practice, yet another thing we need to learn but it’s all about practice, practice and more practice and it all takes time. Partis en 2003 de CapeTown, le couple a dessiné une belle boucle via Sainte-Hélène, le Brésil et le fleuve Amazonie, Panama, Tahiti, la Thaïlande, les Maldives, Maurice ou encore le Mozambique. Arrivés à Ilha Grande! La beauté de l'île est à la hauteur de la réputation de ce jardin d'Éden tropical. Ilha Grande (Île Grande) : 200 km² de nature préservée, à une centaine de miles de Rio de Janeiro. Un cadre de rêve, pour une escale trop courte! Notre visa de 3 mois a expiré, Loïck, notre rêve d'Antilles doit atteindre au plus vite et le plus discrètement possible, la frontière uruguayenne. Pas le temps de se la couler douce, nous nous préparons à un prochain départ. Loïck, notre Rêve d'Antilles, est au mouillage à une centaine de miles de Rio de Janeiro, dans la baie d'Ilha Grande, au cœur de l'espace protégé des Tamoios. Dernière citadelle de la foret Atlantique brésilienne, l'île abrite une biodiversité exceptionnelle. Elle héberge en plus d'un parc naturel, une réserve bio marine. Pour fuir les calmes qui malmènent le bateau et l'équipage, nous piquons vers la terre un peu au hasard. Sur la carte une petite anse au sud d'Ilhabella promet un mouillage confortable et isolé. Nous sommes toujours clandestins et cherchons à éviter les rencontres avec les autorités. Lors de notre seconde escale à Buenos Aires, nous rencontrons le skipper d'Ypake, l'un des rares voiliers de grande croisière argentin qui s'en revient d'un grand voyage en Europe, et plus particulièrement en France, pays sur lequel il pose un regard passionnant. Ypake, c'est le nom de leur voilier, la contraction de Y para que? Et pourquoi? C'est la réponse de cette famille à l'injonction du " toujours plus " de la société de consommation.
