In the Season 2 Episode 2 of The Boat Life we showed lots of projects we did on our sailboat, Dodi. One of those projects was the emblems. The faded Island Packet sticker was one of the two things Melissa wanted to change aesthetically on our boat. When we were on the Island Packet factory tour in February we got two shiny new Island Packet emblems. This boat project took under two hours total and required minimal tools. It was shocking what a difference the new emblems made. Not to mention Melissa was mighty happy with my handy work. Listen gentleman, if you want your lady on your boat find out what she cares about. In this episode of Average Tech Fan we use our drone (Mavic Pro) to help with our outdoor chores. We needed to inspect damage we suspected we had on our roof. We didn't have a ladder long enough and Instead of going up on the roof, what better use could a drone have then to take detailed 4K video of every inch of our roof or anything high off the ground, without us ever needing to risk your own neck. This could be used for way more uses than just inspecting your shingles. For example, let say you are afraid of heights but want to inspect the top of your mast to see if the instruments have been damaged? What better tool than a Drone to give you that HD birds eye view? If you can only afford to spend a small amount, there are very basic drones that you can buy that have cameras that record at 720p for under $100, such as the DJI Tello. So now there is no reason not to own a drone for all those chores that would regularly require you to go up high. Hopefully you enjoyed this episode. If so give it a thumbs up. | Season 2 | Episode 24 | On this episode Meital arrives from the mainland by way of the Catalina Express. We explore Two Harbors and ring in the New Year in old person fashion and push off to sail home on New Years day. We had the pleasure of sailing through a massive pod of dolphins that stretched as far as the eye could see and some played at our bow in classic dolphin style. I attempted a drone flight and lost my new DJI Phantom 3SE drone into the sea. A super bummer but I am glad it happened on the way home and not at the beginning of my trip. As the winds picked up we buried the rails and sailed all the way in, past the lighthouse and down the channel finally coming home to tie up after 9 days at sea and on the hook. I explored 7 different anchorages, 6 on the hook and 1 on a mooring. Sailed more than 200 nautical miles and had one of the most amazing weeks of my life. Thanks everyone for watching this series, I was excited to share it with you all and look forward to sharing the next big adventure series with you later this summer when I sail in Sweden and Finland for 2+ weeks in June. I visit six anchorages on Santa Cruz Island before sailing for Catalina Island and tying up in Isthmus Cove for New Years Eve. Carnaval très coloré de Los Llanos à La Palma toujours et encore.... Bonjour à tous et bienvenue, nous sommes "Les Cagouilles Du Large". Nous sommes une famille de 4 personnes: Fred; Sandra; Valentin et Maurine. Nous embarquons sur notre voilier, un Sun Fizz de chez Jeanneau nommé "Mister Fizz" en compagnie de Heïdi notre chienne berger blanc suisse, et de Fifi notre chatte. Nous allons vous faire découvrir les lieux où nous débarquerons durant notre voyage autour du monde ainsi que notre mode de vie à bord. Myers Beach, we ran across a beached sailboat. The story behind how it got there is nothing short of AMAZING! The crew of SV Second Chance provided interview footage as well as water level footage of pulling their home off of the beach. We were able to catch the whole thing from the drone. What a story!!!

I have learned a lot by mounting the hawsehole in starboard side so it was a bit more easy to drill holes and mount the port side the right way. The hawseholes must align with the toe rails in each side so they will not be hit again by the mooring piles when docking. But as always I run into trouble with one of the screws under the deck.
