With Kejstral now back to full health we sail NW to the Greek island of Kos, and get hit by the notorious acceleration zone on the NE tip of the island. The first seam down from the head on the mainsail fails and we are forced to take it in for repair. Zlatco runs a small sail repair business opposite Kos marina and does an amazing job, not only repairing the seam, but beefing up areas on the sail that look suspect, all for a very reasonable cost. We meet up with good friends Rob & Carole Stone on S/Y Darksyde, before heading off firstly to Yali, and then on to the volcanic island of Nisyros. This volcano is one of the very few where you are able to get right into the crater, and being down there certainly takes your breath away! So this is race 4 in the MCC Burton cup series and I once again enter sailing single handed. In late September, 2018, the world’s top windsurfers from 18 countries gathered in Portugal, Portimão to compete in multiclass World Championships. Three classes competed: Raceboard, Foil, and Formula Windsurfing. This clip shows highlights from the first races held on Tuesday September 18th after racing was delayed for two days without wind. Watch for our other clips covering Raceboard Master Class, and the new Formula Foil class hosted for the first time. Foils aims to become an Olympic sport, starting in Paris, in 2024. Over 100 contestants competed in the three classes including top riders, Steve Allen from Australia, Janis Preiss from Latvia, Kiran Badloe from the Netherlands and João Rodrigues from Portugal. Portimão is a port city in the AL-GAR-VA (Algarve) region of southern Portugal. It’s known for its old quarter, busy marina and proximity to many beaches. We set sail east to cross the Gulf of Alaska and leave south central Alaska to arrive in South East Alaska and the Inside Passage. Ahoy, after such a long time in cold water we're finally getting into warmer water. once inside Magdalena Bay we found a nice anchorage just for ourself, with a tiny beach full of seashells and lobster, yeah millins of Lobster. Baby lobster. We couldn't resist and stripped down our clothes to swim in our spot after hiking to the top of the mountain and shooting some arrows. What a wonderful place and that's just the beginning of these huge bay.. We can't wait to explore the rest of it.. The past few months in Italy have been amazing....friends, family, training, drinking, sailing! In Brunei's capital offers many great museums to visit! All free of any entry fees and very new and/or well kept. From shopping malls in Gadong, local markets, monuments, mosques to the Tasek Lama recreational Park, lots of small distance travel quite hard to do by public buses and quite expensive and difficult to do by different taxis. The best solution was for us to use a rental car and self-drive. Get glimpses of things to visit in BSB town. Living aboard a yacht and in a motorhome with four kids. We have rented out our house and set off on our 34ft yacht for six months of cruising in NZ and will be home schooling our four kids. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.
