| Season 3 | Episode 45 Welcome to Season 3 of my channel! On this episode we make our way to the isolated anchorage of Bänö and I get my first proper "Bows To" experience. After a few flybys... or floatbys in this case, Neil finds a spot he is happy with and we make our way in and get tied up to a tree and a large stone. This style of anchoring in common in Scandinavia where the rock faces often make steep decent to depths safe enough to pull a sailboat right up to the rock face. With the help of our stern anchor whom was dropped and paid out at a safe distance and keeps us off the rocks and snug in our anchorage. This season will follow my time on board SV Arcturus as we explore the Åland Islands and beyond. We sail into cities, tie up on small islands, anchor bows to and ride out a blow before heading back to Sweden. I hope you will follow along with us on the trip. We found the eden deep in the canyon of the desert. Our trek into the Havasupai Indian Reservations was a much anticipated adventure even long before the lottery back in February. It was a trip that came close to not even happening after a major flood in July 2018. The reopening of the trail into Oasis was well worth the long hike and worth every moment thinking about the place where the people of the blue green waters live, where the waterfalls run bright even in the dark of the night. It's been fantastic to revist some of the places we saw on our way south, and one of our next desinations is shroud cay which we absolutely love, but we don't want to miss the opertunity to see some new places that we had to pass by before. Hawksbill cay is just south of shroud cay and from looking at the charts, I beleive there are some ruins still left on the island that we are really looking forward to exploring. We feel so incredibly lucky to be freely exploring such a wild and pristine paradise. There is so much to explore here at hawksbill Cay and we've just only scratched the surface. Keeldragger and Ohana (Cal 27-2) complete another successful caravan sailing trip to Avalon. This will be my last trip to Catalina Island this year. Lots of motoring and light sailing winds for this trip, but the weather is beautiful and the skies are clear.

Our morning starts with sunshine. We decide to use the time to oil the teak deck as we plan to sail to Naples tonight. The first storm comes over us after the deck is painted. Too bad about the good oil. Later we decide to start our trip and set sails, we can watch the weather lightning all the time. The wind becomes less, we start the engine and are caught by over 50 knots of wind. More than 4 hours we are in the pitch black night in the middle of a huge thunderstorm. We made it, dropped our anchor somewhere on the italy coast and relaxed for a few hours.

Will the generator on our sailboat start? Our family plans to use it to charge our batteries for our electric motor and to drive the motor as part of our hybrid electric sailboat. Today we find out if everything we did to refurbish it works. It's a 5KW Kohler generator. We are a family preparing to sail around the world in our electric sailboat.
