Enjoy the presentation of the wonderful Catana 53 presented by Boris from Catana in the factory in Canet-en-Roussillon. I am not a cat man but this by far has to be the best catamaran I have seen. Although it has the same purpose as the Amel it is a vastly different boat.

Our boat's deep cycle AGM battery bank has reached the end of it's 8 year lifespan. The batteries MUST be replaced before leaving for the Bahamas, but that's easier said than done aboard an anchored sailboat. Each battery weighs 75 lbs. Our primary mode of transportation to and from shore is a rowing dinghy. That means lot's of lifting, carrying, grunting, and straining will be happening as this critical boat mission occurs. Then there's the added fun of having to coordinate Uber rides with drivers who don't speak a word of English. A minor detail, but one that does complicate matters when communicating that 200+ lbs of volatile cargo is involved in the transaction. Finally, even when the new AGM batteries are successfully installed, there's still the issue of figuring out what the heck to do with the 225lbs of DEAD batteries. Thanks for watching!! From there we day sail over to Tahiti Beach and walk on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas. We go to Snake Cay to check out the mangroves and see spotted eagle rays. From there we head on over to dive in our very first blue hole. On the way to the blue hole, we are surround by a river full of green turtles. First finishers in Antigua: Maserati Multi 70 skippered by Giovanni Soldini (ITA) crossed the finish line of the RORC Caribbean 600 at 20:49:00 AST on Tuesday 19 February 2019 in an elapsed time of 1 day, 06 hours 49 minutes and 00 seconds, taking Multihull Line honours and setting a new Multihull Race Record in the 11th edition of the race; beating the previous record by just over one hour. The extraordinary events surrounding the battle for Multihull Line Honours will be remembered for years to come. Just 48 hours before the start of the 2019 RORC Caribbean 600, Jason Carroll's MOD 70 Argo (USA) capsized at high speed in training. It seemed impossible that Argo would be racing, but after a monumental effort by the sailing community in Antigua, Argo's crew and shore team, Argo miraculously made the impossible a reality. Wenn man Leuten erzählt, dass man für seinen Urlaub nach Mallorca fliegt, denken die meisten erst einmal an einen ordentlichen Suff am Ballermann.
