In this video we leave the calmest anchorage, travel through the flattest seas, and snorkel in the clearest water. It was a rad day. RAD I SAY! Hawksbill Cay is the anchorage in the very beginning of the video. Amazing place. Great beach, great anchorage, cool ruins. Gotta watch out as your leaving because you want to be sure you've got plenty of water under your keep because you have to weave through patches of small, scattered coral heads as you depart. From there we head towards Soldier Cay to snorkel the Coral Garden that is just South of the Cay. There a little bit of intricate maneuvering as you leave the banks and strike off towards the cays, but it's not all that bad. I'll share some of the navigational details within the video. Once at the Coral Gardens we dive right in and enjoy Tambi's most favorite spot to snorkel in all of the Bahamas. She could spend hours snorkeling here. She does just that actually. She stays in the water so long that Molly and I head back to the dinghy to get un-pruny, but Tambi snorkels on - observing the plethora of sea-life and coral that exists, protected, in great abundance at this location. Sopromar and Marina de Lagos hosts the GC32 World Championships in the jewel of the Algarve, Lagos, Portugal.

Day one of the GC32 World Championship, taking place with the support of the City of Lagos, Marina de Lagos and Sopromar, started in an uncharacteristic southwesterly, blowing across Lagos’ bay and at times gusting to 16-17 knots. Two races were held in this before the lighter prevailing northwesterly filled in, requiring a new race course to be set up and a change from upwind to reaching starts. While the top four teams came out close, all had deep results, the most polarised being those of Alinghi, which ended the day second but tied on points with the leader, Oman Air.

A forecast for not quite as brisk northeasterly winds have me tiptoeing back into the Gulf Stream to take advantage of the favorable current. Come Tuesday morning, June 4, winds are around 15-18 knots out of the northeast and the Gulf Stream is far from comfortable. Winds fall light and veer southeasterly Tuesday night, however, and I finally manage to catch up on some much needed sleep. The Salinas de Pedra de Lume is now a tourist attraction where people bathe and float is the densely salted pools like in the Dead Sea. We spend a day there and Nat becomes the Ice Queen or Salted nut? Exploring the salt ponds of Pedra De Lume is a lot of fun as you will see. The island is called Sal because of it's salt production which used to be very lucrative. They called it the White Gold. It's no longer the case today. The infrastructure is abandoned but the salt ponds are still there and salt is still harvested. As well there are mud pools so we get wicked salty and really dirty. We clean our act up and actually do some sailing to the next anchorage in our quest to circumnavigate the island. We head into Port Moselle marina to fix a few things before we head off down the coast of New Caledonia. We first stop in Ile Uere where we celebrate Chris' 50th Birthday before we head to Baie Ue to check out a waterfall and experience how much the surrounding red soils stain everything. We then head to Prony Bay and stop at Isle Casey where we celebrate Roberts birthday.

Als ich in San Andres ankam, wartete Matthieu schon auf mich an Land. Er hat sich erstmal sein Surfbrett geschnappt und hat eine Runde gedreht bevor wir zusammen die Insel erkundet haben. Eine ca 30 km lange Straße führe einmal rund um die Insel San Andres. Matthieu und ich haben uns einen Skooter geschnappt und sind einmal um die Insel herum gefahren. Dir Insel mit dem Meer der sieben Farben hat ein paar Museen, die wir besucht haben und wer sich traut, kann eine “coco loco”, die verrückte Kokosnuss probieren.
