After spending a week in Noumea, we realised we had to crack on and get our Rigging issues fixed. As is quite often the case with getting boats repaired there was a fair bit of hanging around and waiting. This gave us the opportunity to observe the goings on in and around the bay. We had the comings and goings of several Superyachts and Cruise Liners.

After 2 weeks of boat projects in the marina, it's finally time for us to SET SAIL! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Eu nunca imaginei que passaria por onde passamos! Eu resisti e tive dúvidas até o último minuto. Me perguntei e perguntei para o Sergio se passaríamos realmente pelo Boqueirão ou se daríamos a volta por fora. Como os amigos disseram que era tranquilo e o Gentileza que é um Bavária 45 já havia passado diversas vezes, resolvemos arriscar. Navegamos a noite toda de Niterói para o Arraial, a saída foi meio complicada, porque na Baía da Guanabara existem barquinhos sem luz alguma, então saímos bem apreensivos. Mas depois, tirando a região das ilhas Maricás (onde tem muito barco) foi bem tranquilo. Não tinha muito vento, ele oscilava de 5 a 10 nós no máximo, mas vindo de popa. Armamos o pau de spi e o vento caiu para 3 nós. Acabamos motorando. Foi a noite toda observando os amigos, mantendo contato pelo rádio e curtindo a noite estrelada. Foi uma boa navegada, exceto pelo barulho chato do motor. Demos uma "enrolada" para chegar na entrada do Boqueirão e acabamos entrando na maré cheia, lá pelas 7h da manhã. Que lugar! Parecia que eu estava em uma entrada de um cenário dos Vikings, só que com aquele calorzinho bom do Rio de Janeiro. Eram duas montanhas altas e nós passamos pela entrada dela, como se acessássemos um paraíso restrito. Foi mágico! É difícil descrever em palavras! Mas logo já tivemos que nos atentar para as pedras. A navegação é feita pelo único lugar mais fundo, a mais ou menos uns 10 metros das pedras. Dá muita aflição! Muita! Olhamos para o lado e lá estava uma arrebentação dos bancos de areia... Definitivamente uma navegação com muita emoção. Enfim, ancoramos às 10h no final da Praia do Forno e nos preparamos para acender a churrasqueira para o nosso primeiro churrasco em Arraial do Cabo!

We found the villages on Vellela Lavella island to be incredibly welcoming and friendly. In our opinion the diving in this area is world class with most of the dives being on big walls.
