Nossa primeira vez tirando o barco da agua, aproveitamos uma janela de tempo bom, que nao se confirmou, a meta era fazer a pintura do fundo, polir o costado e checar os seacocks como de costume a previsao do tempo nao estava certa, tivemos que fazer tudo o que dava e voltar pra agua em 3 dias, nao conseguimos polir o costado mas as partes que precisavam ser feitas fora d'agua foram todas concluidas

This week we leave the 'Bay of Kotor' and head to Tivat where we find Porto Montenegro. We always enjoy sailing to new locations so we are excited to find a great bay we can anchor Kawai. Our Mantus anchor holds best in mud or sand and the bay is a thick mud so it's perfect for us. Traces friend Catherine is arriving from Amsterdam and is flying into Tivat so Porto Montenegro is a great place to pick her up. We also find a chandlery near our anchorage which has some sailing goodies we need like a bosun's chair, tender repair kit and sealant tape. Over 1 week we sail around Montenegro showing Catherine the sights, our favourite anchorage being Morinj where we explore and visit our friends. There is so much to see in this beautiful part of the world. Due to predicted severe storms and forecasted heavy lightening we berth in Porto Montenegro marina for the night. This is the first time in a marina in 7 months and although fantastic facilities and service we can't wait to get back on anchor as we love the freedom. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. ORCA!! and VERY Stinky Stowaway This week we head to Whangarei in New Zealand's North Island and walk to the top of Mount Manaia. We have our first ever encounter with New Zealand Orca's (killer Whales) and Jo does an awful lot of squealing when they swim past the boat while hunting stingrays. A truly awesome encounter. We get our furler fixed and then have a lively sail to Great Barrier Island in 30 knots of breeze. On the way we get welcomed by some very excited dolphins, surfing and playing in our bow wave. Our most active dolphin encounter so far! When we arrive at the Barrier we then discover a stowaway from our Fiji crossing - a very ripe character. We set off on our first sail in the Gulf of Mexico! After a day trip to Pensacola through the GICW (Gulf Intracoastal Waterway) with Kirk’s pops, we visit Destin via car to inquire about Destin pass. We were keen on stopping with the boat because it seemed like a fun town to explore, but the pass is notoriously shallow with shifting sands. Splash! Byebye drone. A very sad start to the day but the sailing this day was epic and the next few days in Wayag soon made me forget about the lost drone.
