We had reached paradise on the 30th December 2019 after a 23-day-journey crossing the Atlantic Ocean with our 33-foot Swedish sailing classic Thula. With the captain still recovering from his head injury we unfortunately were hit by the next shock on New Year’s eve with someone spontaneously having decided to say farewell to us. Mourning over our loss we were not able to see the beauty around us the first few days until we decided to head for Port St. Charles where the sailor community overwhelmed us by their support. This new innovative and dynamic 86-metre Explorer Yacht embodies CRN’s DNA while also epitomising the cutting-edge style of Harrison Eidsgaard, one of the leading international yachting design firms. The London-based designers have indeed cooperated with CRN to create this vessel, harmonising the fresh style of their brand with the historical heritage, know-how, and craftsmanship of one of the most important shipyards creating iconic fully-custom yachts in Europe. Conceived for an Owner used to enjoying long voyages with his family all over the world, including in remote locations, this project empowers the concept of ‘exploration’ through areas specifically designed to house water toys and tenders that will allow to discover the most exciting and scenic corners, from the coastline to the most secluded bays, all the way to the sea depths. All guest areas, in turn, have been designed to ensure a constant, direct visual contact with the sea. In this video we go snorkeling at the turtle cleaning station off of Makaha Beach Park in Oahu Hawaii. It's a popular spot for snorkeling on the island especially if you are eager to find lots of green sea turtles. Did I mention it's a beautiful beach. Read on for details about one of the best things to do in Oahu if you're a snorkeler! Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/RRHvcvM6sKJ1BVYR7 The turtle cleaning station can be difficult to locate and I actually wasn't able to find it on my first visit here. However, I asked a local who gave me some tips and I was able to find it right away on my second dive. I'm not going to give away the exact location but some tips are below. It's around 300 feet off shore and sits close to the edge of the reef. If you're standing on shore looking out into the ocean there are two reef areas with a sandy bottom in between them. The reef on the right side of the beach is where you want to be. If you swim out from shore and follow along the reef line on the right side you should be able to locate the large hollow bolder which is the turtle cleaning station. It doesn't sit too far off of the sandy bottom. Check out the satellite view of Makaha Beach park on Google Maps and you will see what I'm talking about with the two reef areas and sandy bottom. New? Sailing Exumas. Action packed episode. A shark ate our fish. Snorkeled over sunk plane in Norman's Cay, where our own drone also crashes! Dinghy trip through Shroud Cay with Pete Goss. Incredible turquoise sea inside Norman's Cay. From Bell Island we headed north to Norman’s Cay, stopping briefly on the way in the stunning blue water on the east side of Hawksbill Bay Cay. Our journey also had some fishing attempts, catching 0.5 fish! Arriving to Norman’s Cay, we visit Mac Duffs bar and the unfinished marina. Next morning, we snorkel over the Pablo Escobar DC3 plane wreck, then crash our own drone into the sea (!), then moved to meet friends at Shroud Cay. The afternoon saw us on a wonderful dinghy trip through the pristine creeks inside Shroud Cay, with a picnic lunch on the beach the other side, a dinghy race back to the boats and Brexit celebrations in the evening. Next day we sought shelter back at Norman’s Cay and watched the Super Bowl with friends, then sat out 2 days of strong winds. Finally, the best till last, an amazing dinghy trip through the interior sand bars and blue channels of Norman’s Cay. Our best dinghy tour to date. 28 Jan - 3 Feb 2020

Sailing in search of a dream anchorage, back to nature in Langkawi, Malaysia. Narrowly avoiding colliding with a cruise ship in the Malacca Strait we make our way north through fish traps to the national parks of Langkawi. Exploring inland we discover a natural infinity pool for a wild swim overlooking our anchorage. This is a welcome break from the city and marina life we have been experiencing so far in Malaysia, boat life at anchor is far preferable for us. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. For 8 weeks we during the Christmas period, we were in Australia. Released to you finally (after we got our hard drives back) is our camping trip to Straddie (aka Stradbroke Island). What was initially meant to be a short one night stop to explore this beautiful sand island, we extended for a further few days; getting lost (literally) on beaches while four wheeled driving, hiking to remote lakes as well as swimming and attempting to surf in the clear water!
