Nachdem es uns spontan nach Wilhelmshaven verschlagen hatte, sollte es mit einem kurzen Schlag nach Hooksiel weiter gehen. Wir segelten die Jade also wieder runter, nachdem wir die Segel bei einem spektakulären Sonnenaufgang gesetzt hatten. Der schwache Wind kam fast direkt von hinten, so dass wir mit Großsegel und ausgebaumter Genua im Schmetterling gesegelt sind. Es war ein ruhiger Schlag, der ausnahmsweise mal nach Plan lief. Tem lugares em que a gente vai, conhece, aproveita e vai embora. Agora tem lugares que a gente se joga de um jeito que quase não sobrevive! Santa Lucia era uma ilha que estávamos considerando não passar, achei que não seria interessante ficar em mais uma cidade depois de tanto tempo em Becquia. Mas, claro, estavam todos os amigos e a gente resolveu parar um diazinho para matar saudades. Qual a chance da gente ficar um dia só em um lugar onde o bar era tão animado e o balde com 6 long necks era só 10 ECs? rs Acabamos que ficamos um bom tempo em Santa Lucia, aproveitamos os bares, a Rodney Bay Marina que era uma delícia, o pôr do sol da nossa ancoragem e a festoooona de rua que foi uma delícia! Simplesmente adoramos! Rodney Bay é diversão pra todo gosto, tem bar, tem baile de rua, tem parque pra escalar e ver uma vista fabulosa, tem Castries, tem praia... Mas com o precinho do Rum Punch nos happy hours eu não ia durar muito. Ia acabar morrendo pelo caminho. Essa subida na montanha de Pigeon Island que o diga. Manguaçamos num dia e inventamos de subir a maior montanha da baía na outra. Meu pulmão quase ficou pelo caminho, mas o sofrimento super compensou e ainda paramos no Jambe de bois para uma cervejinha com lulinha frita depois. Life is good at Santa Lucia.

If you're currently locked down on your boat or just planning what you're going to do when you get back to her, take the opportunity to get on with some varnishing. We have a lot of varnish on Fair Isle so I get a plenty of practice applying it! I've found Epifanes to be the best high quality varnish, but it's hard work to apply and maintain. Because of this I only use it in select places and I use International Woodskin everywhere else. This is MUCH easier to deal with and still looks good. Check out this video for lots of tips. We drove to Los Angeles, the city of angels, after we payed a quick visit to the gates of Neverland, where Michael Jackson used to live. Before driving into the crowded city we stopped at Malibu beach for a nice swim in the pacific ocean. Our day in L.A. ended with a lovely dinner in Hollywood and a walk along The Walk Of Fame where we spotted the famous stars.
