We go out for a ride on the dinghy for some photos, Steph goes to the lily festival with a friend and we see tons of fish in our marina.

I sail solo from La Rochelle, France to the Madeira Islands. I fly the spinnaker multiple times enroute --- and experience my share of bloopers with that demanding sail.

I launch against wind and wave on the 550 NM passage from Funchal, Madeira, to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Along the way, I discuss my unusual VHF antenna.....and give a bit of flavor for life aboard a rocking and rolling monohull (cooking/sleeping). I quantify comfort in terms of degree of heel. I film my 0400 arrival in darkness.

Cooking gluten free food in a tiny galley on a sail boat can be challenging and fun. Join us as we travel the world, cook fantastic food and find out about local produce and dishes. This week make a British classic dish - Fish and chips with mushy peas. It may look a lot, but it is really just three simple steps - fry the potatoes in oil, fry the fish in oil and heat up the peas. ----- Ingredients - Serves 2 4 Medium size Maris Piper Potatoes 2 Fillets of Haddock, Cod or Whiting 300g Mushy peas, Garden Peas or Marrowfat Peas 1 Lemon Gluten free bread Batter Mix 125ml Gluten Free Self Raising Flour 125ml Semi-skimmed Milk Pinch of salt Method Chips - cut the potato into chips about 1cm (½") on their sides. Cook in hot fat for 5 minutes and then remove from the fat and set aside for 5 minutes. Then return them to the fat until they are golden and hard/crispy on the outside Fish - Dry the fish and coat in the batter. Lay the fish into the hot fat - do NOT drop it in. Turn it occasionally to ensure that it is cooked both sides. After about 3 or 4 minutes it will cooked. Place on an oven tray and store in a warm oven to keep it warn whilst excess fat drains off. Mushy peas - open tin. Put in pot. Heat. Serve. This week on Kawai we continue our journey across the Cyclades on route to Turkey. We begin by leaving the Island of Paros and heading for Mykonos. With 20 knots blowing from the South, our plan is to head North towards Mykonos and with it being known as the windy Island we plan to use the protected bays on the west of the island as shelter. The sailing is great as we head down wind, with a consistent 20-25 knots. Sailing in winter can be unpredictable, and with 8 days of Southerlies we decide on Mykonos, which is well protected from this direction with 3 large bays. We sail up the channel between Delos and Mykonos. Delos is extremely rocky with no vegetation and no inhabitants. The small island of Delos has one of the most important archaeology sites in Greece. With very few boats still sailing, we get the pick of the anchorages. Mykonos surprises us, and we have an amazing time checking out the sights of this normally bustling island. Dreamy sunsets, Ouzo, welcoming locals and memorable nights out make for a perfect week in Mykonos. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. Il viaggio sulle rotte dei Popoli del Mare è arrivato ad Atene: sull'Acropoli, dopo aver esplorato il Partenone e aver incontrato le Cariatidi, Syusy visita il Museo Archeologico... che si rivela una fonte infinita di domande! Hi! I'm continuing, separate from Season 2, the Pacific Solo Captain's Log, where I will record and upload simple videos about what I am learning. This week I have three tips for those who are thinking of launching their own Kickstarter Campaign. I've just finished my campaign on the platform, and it was a steep learning curve -- as is almost everything about Pacific Solo and the last twelve months! Oh and i made a slight mistake on my handwritten notes I showed regarding the breakdown of 5 dollar backers. In fact there were 11 but the second reference to 5 dollar should have said 1 dollar. Despite asking many people to sponsor 1 dollar, most chose higher amounts and only four chose one dollar.
