Kurzfristig haben wir uns dazu entschieden, in den Kornaten segeln zu gehen. Oder sagt man auf den Kornaten? Naja, es war auf jeden Fall eine richtige Entscheidung ☺️. Diese unberührten Inseln im Nationalpark sind einfach ein Traum und ein tolles Gefühl diese Welt mit einem eigenen Segelschiff zu entdecken. Auf Levrnaka machen wir unseren ersten Zwischenstop. Dort können wir an der Restaurant-Mole festmachen. Durch ein Abendessen in dem Lokal kostet dafür dann der Liegeplatz am Steg wenig bis nichts. Levrnaka besticht durch seinen kleinen Strand mit türkis-blauen Wasser. Ein erstes großes Highlight für uns! Am Ende unsere Kornaten Segeltour machen wir dann noch vor der Konoba Koromacna bei Opat halt. Kulinarisch und an Gastfreundschaft kaum zu überbieten! After we check out the volcano in St Vincent and do some diving we get the disappointing news that we have to go to the US for a few months. Before we leave Charlie passes along his cantelope to a trusted friend and Ben and I do some diving. We do a 600 mile sail so we can haul the boat and catch a flight back. Nala's electric autopilot is miss positioned so it always under-steers on the port tack (it can only give 5 degrees on the rudder). Though this setup works fine downwind with the sails balanced it doesn't work very well when i have to tack solo, this is why we are trying to make a Trimtab for our rudder to allow the autopilot to give more degrees and consume less power. On our sea trial the system did not work properly, though the principle is correct i should have use a NAKA 2000 profile for my trim-tab to help it increase the pressure and the flow of the water behind the rudder. The composite hinges worked well and they are really strong so on the second version i will be making a new trim-tab using foam and NAKA 2000 profile. Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... In der Nacht hat der Wind zugenommen und es steht eine gute Welle. Wir kommen schnell Richtung Süden voran und steuern die Isole Temiti an, in der Hoffnung, dass wir dort einen guten Ankerplatz vor dem starken Nordwest finden werden. Und wir finden ihn, die nach Norden und Westen gut geschützte Bucht bei Isola Domino bietet uns einen tollen Ankerplatz für die nächsten zwei Nächte. Dann geht es weiter an die Spitze des Sporns von Italien, nach Vieste. Die Stadt ist wunderschön und wir erkunden die engen Gassen und schönen Plazas. Als nächsten Stop haben wir das schöne Trani eingeplant, werden aber enttäuscht als es am Funk heißt."Sorry, we are full". Also heißt es weiter nach Bari ziehen und dann soll es nach Monopoli gehen... was für ein hübscher Name. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ During the night the wind increased and there is a good wave. We are making fast southbound and headed for the Temiti Island, in the hope that we will find a good anchorage there from the strong northwest. And we find it, the bay near Isola Domino, which is well protected to the north and west, offers us a great anchorage for the next two nights. Then it goes on to the top of the spur of Italy, to Vieste. The city is beautiful and we explore the narrow streets and beautiful plazas. As the next stop we have planned the beautiful Trani, but we are disappointed when the VHF says "Sorry, we are full". So it's time to move on to Bari and then it should go to Monopoli ... what a pretty name. In this episode I start thinking about the plank fastenings for Tally Ho. Using copper rivets is the strongest and most authentic choice, but they are not available to buy in the size I need. Just as I am trying to work out the smartest way to make the rivets, we receive a mysterious box in the mail, from a fan. Amazingly, someone has custom-fabricated a machine for making copper rivets out of round bar! We also work on making all the patterns for the hanging knees, which will be cast in Bronze at PT Foundry. Matt and David join the team, and get stuck into grinding bronze, and Rosie gets into her stride laminating the patterns. Many people promised us that Formentera is the Caribbean of the Med: blue water, sandy beaches and palm trees. Well they weren't wrong! This place is incredibly beautiful and the water... is like a swimming pool, even at 8 meters deep. Incredible!! But well, it's high season in Spain and the Spanish love their power boats and jet skis. So you either join them or glue anything that's not screwed in yet to the surface and jump in the water to get some time out from all the wobbling. And with water like that, it is no punishment to be swimming! So today we'll show you the Balearics from a different side: HIGH SEASON! Last year we sailed around Menorca and Mallorca in autumn, but this year (due to well.. circumstances) we ended up in the Balearics in high season instead of spring.
