In the Danish National Archives, the description of this old sea route is kept like a treasure. By coincidence Claus Aktoprak got aware of this itinerary and curiosity kicked in. This document, written by monks in Latin script, is one of the oldest and exiting sources about navigating the Baltic sea. It mentions many places which together forming - mostly sheltered by skerries - a sea route along the east coast of Sweden, over the Åland-islands and Southern-Finland to Reval (todays Tallinn). This sailing route, already used by Vikings, the 40-year-old sailboat LA MER auctioned at eBay and a kayak are the ingredients of this new Baltic sea adventure from Claus Aktoprak through the dreamlike archipelagos of Scandinavia. A boom brake could save your life or the life of your crew. It's a simple safety device that's easily fitted to the boom to prevent accidental gybes. I recently purchased the Walder BoomBrake at the Dusseldorf Boat Show and in this video I show you how i've installed it on Summer Breeze my Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 29.2 which I keep on the River Medway in Kent. While it's primary function is safety the BoomBrake can also help improve downwind sailing, by ensuring you only gybe when you want to and making goose winging extremely easy. Without the BoomBrake goose winging your yacht can be a bit of a dark art, however I find this so easy now. A multi-day excursion-staycation in Mission Bay, San Diego. I launch the F/V Sabine, a Hobie Compass 12.5 foot fishing kayak from S/V Spartina, our sailboat anchored up in Mariner’s Cove. Ended up hooking up on a variety of fishes from the bay, the jetties and the basin. Overall a fun few days with great weather and water conditions. Two Ketch Rigged sailboats buddy boat sailed down the Stono River to the convergence of the Folly River, the Kiawah River and the Atlantic Ocean. Happy Halloween Sail and overnight anchor at the Stono Inlet. Blue moon Full Moon on Halloween as we enjoyed snacks and beverages in the cockpit while dolphins fished the marsh banks. Sunrise on the Ocean on the fordeck as strings of cormorants migrate south. A Bald Eagle sits in the treetops watching the morning begin. What a stompin' sail at 30+ knots as we got closer to the Ocean. What an awesome time on the water! Love you Lola Moo! Will sail with you again, Dos Capitanas

What a great way to spend quality time with family out on the water. We set out for a quite breezy afternoon catching all the sights the Charleston Harbor has to offer! Fueled up by the best food served in the galley on a November evening we were ready to go. Great winds were caught by beautiful sailboats out for a stomping sail. The bridge and the Yorktown aircraft carrier were great sights as we sailed by Castle Pickney, a walled Fort in the middle of all of the goings on in the Harbor. Enjoy the sights and the sail!
