Welcome you to our channel l recently bought a sailing boat Hallberg Rassy Rasmus 35 Here you can find my self fixing it, I'm uploading videos for my self and friends if someone wants to watch you are welcome to do that and share some ideas. This weeks episode will be a little bit of everything.
It's time for the fiberglass and gelcoat grinding to be over! We tear into the boat more only to discover that it's not built the way anybody thought - and not in a good way. But have faith, we got this. After all, It's just fiberglass! This video should have been about 3 videos long. The truth is, there was a LOT of work done that wasn't included this week lol. Maybe I'll put together a compilation of extra clips for a bonus Monday vid! Ghost Glove - https://amzn.to/353kpgo Thanks for watching- With love The Evans' **************************************** *Our Boat* 2008 Beneteau 49 3 cabin 2 head 4JH4-TE Westerbeke generator Mast, sails and rig are in excellent condition and in storage Here's what we *think* we know about her past. Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground - hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made. Our sailing life is returning to normal with the relaxation of restrictions in Indonesia. Able to explore the local islands we are back to sailing in turquoise waters to palm shaded beaches. We share one of the unseen challenges that we face along with the good times of socialising with other yachts. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat, our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid. #sailingvideo#sailingvlog Hay guys, it's finally here, the I arrive in New Zealand video!! My crew Wilson takes an unexpected dip and I face a mini squall in the marina!! Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach in Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony with our 4 kids, just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon
How to sail 40 years around the world without fixed income. Sailing on budget playing piano and sax.
A Musical Odyssey of Stan and Cora. A new film from the series Folks of the Ocean This is a story about two beautiful and crazy dreamers. Stan and Cora Lojda of Ruffanuff (their band name not their boat name). The Lodjas are a funny Czech/German couple. And their amazing story is not just about music, but about an epic 40-year circumnavigation. When they set off they had no idea where their journey would take them, if they can afford sailing around the world and how they will make money. With a few Admiralty pilot books and lacking experience they had to learn by reading and talking to the people they met along the way. They take the path less travelled finding odd jobs and living on a shoestring budget. But this was before they start playing music… Ok, lets go back to their story. In 1981, they sold everything and started living and traveling by boat. Several years in the Mediterranean. From the Med, Stan and Cora went on to Brazil and this trip eventually was a beginning of circumnavigation via the three Great Southern Capes. Brazil. Cape Horn. A year in Chile. Pitcairn Islands. French Polynesia. Tonga. In Tonga they fell into a small friendly community. Stan started to play his accordion and keyboard at a beach bar owned by a Spanish couple. Cora deciding Stan was having too much fun, walked into a music shop on a trip to New Zealand and asked for “any loud instrument!” She walked out with a saxophone. Cora learnt to play and soon enough they were playing together. Their music was influenced by Muddy Waters, Doctor John and Fats Domino. The Crown Prince of Tonga, also a Fats Domino fan, saw them play and this was a beginning of a good long friendship. Thus, Tonga was the place where they started to make a living from music. When it was time to move on, they went along Australia’s south coast and around Cape Leeuwin. In Australia they went on a road trip and played music in small towns on their way. After sailing 3300nm and short stop in Mauritius Stan and Cora arrived to Reunion Island, where they stayed a year playing four gigs a week on this island. When they set sail again in 2002 they spent the next few years happily sailing a triangle between Mayotte, Madagascar and Mozambique performing wherever they went.. Then was the 3d Great Cape – Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, Namibia and their second Atlantic crossing. This time Stan and Cora stoped in St Helena and they play a few gigs there, somehow managing to get their equipment safely ashore in the enormous swells. After nearly 30 years they completed their circumnavigation arriving back in Brazil. This time they headed north along the coast of South America and on to the Caribbean. Since then they have played all over the Caribbean including Cuba & Guatemala. Two projects running side by side as we recut an old RC 44 spinnaker into a fractional kite for Paikea. While Anna is busy with that project, Shayne is in the grinding bay with a heap of carbon fibre mast pieces that he is going to use to create a new front beam and longeron for our catamaran. This is a project we have been talking about for ages. Our original set up did not allow for attaching a gennaker or storm sail/trinket so we decided to replace the existing front beam with sections of carbon fibre mast from an old America's Cup rig. The longeron is also a top section of AC mast. The pressure is on to get this project completed in record time as we need to haul the boat out for repairs on the hull. I had my stereo on in this video so i have had to cut out the sound then have a playlist with text. But basically i will be replacing windows with acrylic and had to oversize the window surrounds. Little bit of guess work and free hand but the one i cut should match the bill. Followed by more hacking out wet foam so i can start rebuilding the bulk heads. This will be a start to finish project where i will record as much as i can. I will aim to upload every Friday. Please like and subscribe..

Vragen of opmerkingen? GET TO KNOW HER Combining comfort, confidence, and capability, the Swift Trawler 47 is the ideal boat for travelling with the family. She is designed to take you further faster with 580 gallons of fuel. She appeals to all on board with her open and welcoming wheelhouse. Learn more: https://www.beneteau.com/us/swift-trawler/swift-trawler-47 -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. I went out on the water as I do sometimes to explore the world around me. I found great yet blustery conditions and despite the small craft advisory that day I had a phenomenal and safe time. I paddled up a small creek on the sunfish which historically was a rescue craft designed to be paddled like a surfboard to rescue people trapped in the surf or in distress on the water. This video is a little slower paced and longer, I hope it is something that provides you with the feeling of being on the water. Don't miss the huge flock of seagulls at the end and look out for my next videos that may have some cool yet derelict abandoned boats. #Sailing #Sailinglife #Sailboat #Boat #Sail #Sunfish
