Nous avons effectué 2 plongées au sud de la Grenade avec le centre de plongée Scubatech situé au sud de l'île à Prickly Bay et dirigé par un couple américo-suisse. La suissesse Evelyne parle couramment le français. La 1ère plongée a été assez décevante car aucune faune autour de l'épave comme on en voit régulièrement tels que des langoustes, des raies, des tortues ainsi que toute sorte de poissons. C'était le vide total et l'épave n'était pas très intéressante. L'hélice en bronze a été récupérée pour être refondue. La 2ème plongée a été plus intéressante. Elle a eu lieu à une profondeur de 12m autour d'un récif qui grouillait de poissons et langoustes. Les coraux étaient magnifiques et en bonne santé. Les 2 plongées ont été des dérivantes. Il faut se munir d'un parachute afin de le lancer lors de la remontée en surface. Il semblerait qu'il y a une superbe plongée à faire sur l'épave Hema qui est située au large et dont on peut observer des requins nourrice et des raies léopard. The coolant must be changed every 2. year and this year it is again time. I use the original pre-mixed green Volvo Penta coolant used on engines from 1983-2005. The coolant have some properties as it prevent the engine from boiling at too low temperature, prevent corrosion, preserves rubber gaskets, prevent the engine from frostbite in the winter. You can also get the coolant as a do it your self mix but I prefer to buy it pre-mixed wich has a price around 33 USD. The yellow Volvo VCS coolant is for the newer engines from 2006 and forward. In this video I try to let out all the coolant the right way and also flush the system with fresh water as it must be done according to the manual

Hello dedicated viewers. In this episode I am finishing off some small jobs and my carpenter begins his work. We get the floor down throughout the whole boat and start getting in some walls.

What it really comes down to is that we don't like RV campgrounds. They're busy, noisy, expensive, and chock full of people. The alternative strategy that we choose to employ is BOONDOCKING. Boondocking is one of those weird words that don't have a specific definition. It means different things to different people. For us, it means camping in "free" areas such as designated forestry land without any amenities such as power, water or sewer. It's essentially off grid RV living. It's not for everyone, that's for sure. Most people prefer more posh and convenient accommodations, but for folks like us who prefer to get away from it all... boondocking is the answer. It’s always fun getting people involved with the spinnaker launch who have never soon one. 1. Pre-feed the tack 2. Hoist! Like there’s no tomorrow 3. Sheet! 4. Douse the Jib 5. Run with the waves 😎 Prior to launching the kite make sure all lines are rigged correctly (tack, halyard, sheet). It can be done short handed but 4 people is preferred on our trimaran. a. Bowman: rigs the kite and ensures a smooth launch, communicates issues back to the cockpit for adjustments and calls “Made” when hoist is complete. b. Pit: pre-feeds the tack, hoists the kite, douses jib. Makes adjustments based off of calls from the helmsman and bowman. Provides feedback c. Trimmer: assists with hoist (if necessary), sheets the spinnaker, assists with jib douse d. Helmsman: Holds broad reach or appropriate angle into the wind. Commands each step of the process (if not automatic), adjusts mainsail if necessary.

27 boats and 124+ crew will tomorrow enjoy some lighter winds as we see a return to sailing with the West Offshore Products Coastal Sprint. There is now a shorten course and shorten finish added with PredictWind indicating winds dropping off as the crews turn to return to the finish. It's great to see so many join the record coastal sprint (category 3) fleet numbers and celebrate the return to ocean sailing. For those boats that have AIS, you can monitor their progress via marine traffic or via the ORCV website or social pages #orcv

Rebuilding a Hall and Brown #2 bandsaw. This saw is about 105 years old, classic old American iron. A variable frequency drive (VFD) is used for the 3-phase conversion. This is not a museum style restoration, the saw will be a daily user in the boat shop.
