At 0118hrs UTC the PRB Team was informed that their Vendée Globe race skipper Kevin Escoffier (PRB) has been rescued by fellow Vendée Globe competitor Jean Le Cam (Yes We Cam!). Escoffier had to abandon his IMOCA 60 PRB following damage yesterday afternoon around 1346hrs UTC and took to his liferaft some 840 nautical miles SW of Cape Town. The rescue mission was coordinated from Les Sables d’Olonne by Vendée Globe Race Direction in collaboration with CROSS Griz Nez and MRCC South Africa. The President of PRB, Jean-Jacques Laurent was at the Race HQ with race director Jacques Caraës and the race direction team assisting through the entire process. "He's on board with Jean!" These short words came as a huge relief for the whole team, for Escoffier’s family and all those involved in the Vendée Globe

Unfortunately I spent 1545-1575 under a PU with Muscovy, which stunted my growth a bit, but with a PU of my own over Hungary I was still able to beat Spain, France, and Ottomans in a few late-game wars.

Unsere Boote waren immer eine Evolution der vorangegangenen Typen basierend auf Kundenfeedback und unserer eigenen Erfahrung als Segler und neusten Trends der Branche. Die SUNBEAM 32.1 wird vor allem eines. Sie wird polarisieren. Und das auf vielen verschiedenen Ebenen. Einerseits will sie mit einem unverwechselbaren, markanten Design überzeugen und andererseits mit einem loftartigen Ambiente bestechen. Zudem brechen wir auch mit einigen SUNBEAM Traditionen. Es wird das erste Boot von uns sein mit einem Doppel-Steuerstand, einer Doppel-Ruderanlage. Und wir werden auch verschiedene Kiel-Varianten anbieten mit denen man auch trocken fallen kann. Das Thema Platz Angebot, das Platz Angebot an Deck und unter Deck war für uns ein ganz zentrales Thema mit dem wir uns intensivst auseinandergesetzt haben. Es galt das Decks Design so zu gestalten, um den verfügbaren Platz zu maximieren. Das Resultat ist ein ganz spezielles Decks Design und wir nennen das Flight Deck. Auch im Innenraum sind wir neue Wege gegangen. Das loftartige Ambiente mit dem modernen Materialmix und die fehlenden Raumtrenner lassen das Boot innen außerordentlich geräumig wirken. Zudem gibt es viele Fenster und große Fensterflächen, die das Interieur luftig und hell wirken lassen. Weiters haben wir eine Badeplattform entwickelt, die vom Platzangebot und der Funktionalität in dieser Bootsgröße konkurrenzlos sein wird. We drove from New Bern, NC to the Raymarine tech office in NH to repair our chart plotter. On the way, we reunited with our friends on SV Wild Child at their beautiful home in PA. QP and Jessica enjoyed spending time in the kitchen learning Chinese style cooking.

After visiting with the crew of Wild Child, we headed to Raymarine to repair our chart plotter. We were only able to drop it off. We could not talk to a technician. It would have been a wasted trip if we were not so close to Gloucester and the seafood docks. Time to load up the fridge and freezer with lobsters.

So we made a pit stop in Charleston SC to check out the town. What ensued is a combination of lip syncing and BBQ! Quite the combo right?? Anyways, we had a great time and ate some delicious food while at Rodney Scott’s BBQ. Hope you get a laugh out of this one!
