Hello boat builders! My name is Jop and I'm a mechanical engineer from the Netherlands. In my spare time I'm converting and old Danish bunker tanker into a classic steam-tug houseboat here in the harbour of Copenhagen. https://www.instagram.com/hollandskst... Early autumn ride on an Aprilia SXV 450. One of my last rides of 2020. Since the last video the bike was upgraded with the arrow underseat titanium system and Alice Racing mapping with XV Tuner. One of the last rides for a while actually, since I broke my back in an unfortunate accident at work (not bike related). I'm currently in a wheelchair, but I can walk decently with support. Right now it looks like I'll be able to get back on a bike normally someday, maybe in a year, only time will tell. Spinal cord injuries heal slowly and unpredictably. If not, then I'll get back on a bike some other way. Where there's a will there's a way. I'm actually doing very well. While the situation sucks of course, it's also been very eye opening and made me appreciate many things in life, especially these memoirs. I still have some untouched footage to work through of my last SXV rides, some Daytona stuff as well in the archives. I meant to shoot some more with the triumph, but oh well, life got in the way. Oh, and if you've been thinking about getting a motorcycle? Do it, life is just too short and unpredictable.

The trip south through the Atlantic to the start of the Southern Ocean was anything but straightforward. Complex weather systems, a tropical storm along with large light patches spread liberally across the race track proved taxing for all. But there was drama to come.
Will our yacht engine start after not running for 15 years? In this episode we start tackling some of the rust issues up on the foredeck, we remove the winches to take home for servicing and we try turning over the engine to see if she will start! She canna take any more captain! She's gonna blow! We are Andy, Melissa and Jack, a sailing family based in North Wales, and for the past couple of years we have been looking for a bluewater sailing yacht to take us around the world. Well we've finally found her. Our new sailing yacht is a John Teal designed 38ft Steel Pilothouse Cutter. She has been standing ashore for at least 15 years and now we're embarking on the huge challenge of refitting her and doing her up ready to go sailing around the world. When we decided to abort mission on crewing the big motor yacht, we knew that we were going to deal with a HUGE mess. But because we were looking at potentially way more trouble at sea, we chose the mess on land. In this week’s video, we deal with the aftermath of choosing to not crew on the motor yacht. From shipping our stuff from Almerimar to Curacao to transporting ourselves, we piece together a solution for us, our belongings and Polar Seal to all be reunited. At the end of the day, life goes on. And although the situation is a bit stressful, we end up having tons of good times with our friends! After what feels like forever going down the intracoastal water way and seemingly being unable to escape the cold, we've finally made it down to the sunshine state and our last stop in the United States before crossing to the Bahamas! (oh gosh, we're so close!) After arriving in Florida, it's really starting to feel like we've really made it somewhere. Knowing that it's currently snowing back home while we're trying to rid ourselves of as much clothing as possible is a wow moment for us. It's time to open up the enclosure, bask in the sun, enjoy some clear waters (even if it's only for a moment!) and enjoy some good ol' pranking! We came to Annapolis to visit friends....but we may have just gotten roped in to something much bigger. Become a Patron, and get extras not available to ANYONE ELSE! https://www.patreon.com/mjsailing Not only did our friend/host give us a WONDERFUL place to stay while we're in town here, but after meeting up with us for drinks our first afternoon in, where we told him what we were looking for in a build site - he found us the perfect location THE NEXT DAY!! (Thanks again Jeff, we'll have to toast you again for this when we come over tonight, lol.) But, that's not all. While we were at Kentmorr Marina talking to the owner about the use of their paint tent for the build, he had another opportunity in store for us. Which came in the form of a place to live during the build. If you're curious to learn more - and want to see our shocked and dumbfounded faces for our entire visit there - make sure to tune in for this week's episode. Much love from Annapolis! WE Sail is back on our sailing catamaran after a great summer visit back to Colorado to see family and friends as well as work a bit to help bankroll our next cruising season! When we were doing our research we found a few people that shared their exact sailing catamaran monthly expenses, but it never matched our existing budget. Although we heard that you should expect to spend the same on the boat as you did on land, what we couldn't find is someone that did a direct comparison. If that is something you are looking then you are in luck with this video! We use a program called Tiller that imports your transactions into a spreadsheet automatically and you get to control it from there. They have some default templates that you can use to get started, but the real power is in the ability to customize it exactly how you like. And they have a strong community if you run into any issues. If you're interested, check out the link below. Please note, if you sign up for an account we do receive a small commission, but this is not a paid promotion and we really have been using it for over 5 years to track our monthly expenses.
