Suite à anomalie de carburation avec obligation de laisser le starter pour avoir un fonctionnement approximatif et éviter de caler avec manque de puissance, je me suis lancé dans le démontage contrôle carburateur. Je ne suis vraiment pas un spécialiste mais en prenant mon temps ça m'a paru assez facile. Principal défaut, gicleur largement obstrué mais aussi présence de dépôts sur gicleur et vert de gris aussi sur pointeau. We finally leave Emerald Bay and Great Exuma behind. It's a very smooth day and we get to sail with the spinnaker, but we have to time the tides into Rudder Cut as it is known for not being a fun cut on the wrong side of tides and winds. We anchor out for the night at Rudder Cay which is just a few islands away from David Copperfield's island of Musha Cay. We dive the musician and dad kisses a mermaid. All and all a great day. We bezoeken de historische Hanzestad Visby met zijn middeleeuwse stadsmuur en verdedigingstorens. In de stad treffen we een ongekend aantal ruïnes van kerken waarvan enkele bezocht kunnen worden. Visby is een gezellig stadje en heeft een prima haven. Bij de havenmeester huren we een auto en rijden een dag over Gotland en bezoeken diverse plaatsen die de moeite waard zijn. De haven is helemaal verlaten als wij de oversteek maken naar het langgerekte Öland, waar we aan het noordelijkste puntje een prachtige ankerplek vinden. Felia legt uit hoe wij ankeren. Wij zijn Ben en Felia. Jaren hebben wij de droom gehad om samen over de wereld te zeilen. In mei 2020 zijn we aan dit grote avontuur begonnen. The issue I had was that one unit was not cooling or heating. When I turned it on I could hear the relay switch clicking and the fan would blow room temperature air.. There was however no cooling water being pumped through the system and the compressor was not starting when I switched on this particular unit. The water pump did work when I turned on one of the other units. I had to find out what part had failed and was stopping the compressor and water pump activating. It was an easy fix. Watch the video and the part number is shown in the video. I hope this video helps you if you are having a similar problem.

Thursday saw the Coral Reef Yacht Club in association with the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, the USSailing Center and Shake a Leg Miami, start the Bacardi Invitational Regatta alongside the Star's Bacardi Cup. Due to the pandemic, the race committee welcomed a limited fleet of J70s and Melges 24s to an additional course. For some teams, the survival conditions proved too much to handle, but others, used to that kind of pressure, rose to the challenge.

In this episode of Towards the Adventure, our crew spends 20 hours putting shrink wrap on our boat, as we await a winter storm. The winds pick up earlier than expected, and we end up putting a hole in the boat's shrink-wrap. Our tiny home on the water will stay warm this winter with the greenhouse that we build on top. We finish installing the front door, using our shrinkfast heat gun to heat and shrink the plastic, and make sure everything is tight and secure.

In which I wander aimlessly around abandoned marinas in the dead of winter and take my first sailing lesson on Long Island Sound. Apologies for the vertical footage at the beginning, the shaky footage in the middle and the wind noise throughout. I'm working on all of that. I mean well.
