This CNB BORDEAUX 60 with striking blue hull is designed and equipped for comfortable and fast blue water cruising. She has wide teak-laid decks, flush deck hatches and an opening bathing platform with dinghy garage. The ample teak-laid cockpit features two steering stations where all manoeuvres are controlled from, enough seating and a foldable cockpit table with integrated fridge. A day of mixed weather and cold. The morning was blue skies and sunshine but cold and little wind. However, we launched and there was enough to give us an hours sailing to Normanton Church, across to Hambleton Peninsula and back to Rutland Sailing Club. We agreed it was getting chilly so a quick bite to eat for lunch, put on some warmer gear and set off again. It proved to be the right move and as the images show, the wind turned up and gave us a great sail and put big smiles on our faces. Another day in the office on Rutland Water - Perfect! Pirates and kidnapping for ransom have historically been a problem off the coast of Colombia and Panama. In the 12 months prior, our cruising friends were boarded by 6 pirates and tied up and a Kiwi family was boarded and the father killed. Back when I had a job that included Kidnap and Ransom insurance, they warned me that this area was not covered due to extreme risk. Because of all of this, when a group of men in paramilitary uniforms made us follow them, we immediately thought, "Are we getting kidnapped by pirates?" In this episode we were hoping for a smooth crossing from the Eastern Caribbean through Bonaire, Colombia and Panama in an attempt to get to French Polynesia by May. It did not turn out as we expected.

Just days before one of the harshest lock downs in the world, we sail to Great Barrier Island off New Zealand's east coast. It was a beautiful place to be locked down, but we didn't know about the drama it would create as A LOT of boaters from Auckland decided to come join us, putting a strain on the local grocery stores and island facilities. The police crack down hard and we get permission to leave, only to be jumped on for moving by authorities halfway to our marina. It's a mess. What a crazy start to a crazy pandemic... This video i get suited and booted and have a good grinding session in the port hull. I also attempt to service the engine and leg but come across a few issues.
