Monachus-Issa 45 is characterized by a strong construction. The hull geometry is designed without compromise, taking into account the best buoyancy. The longitudinal and transverse weight distribution are adjusted in the same way so that all the centers of gravity are set as low as possible. Structural water tanks were made between the central longitudinal ribs, which further strengthened the hull. In the event of damage to the most exposed underwater part, the contents of the tank will leak out and the boat can proceed to the service point. Superior stability is achieved by proper weight distribution and hydrodynamic tunnel design. In addition to contributing to stability, HD tunnels further strengthen the stern of the hull, reduce draft, and the propellers are better protected in case the boat passes over an unwanted floating object. Due to the tuned bow buoyancy, the center of gravity around the CB point (center of the boat) and adequately balanced stern buoyancy, ‘Monachus’ has the effect of a balanced seesaw on the longitudinal wave. The result is a slight transition over the wave. The one-piece laminated and multi-axially curved windscreen gives the helmsman a fantastically clear view. An equally slightly raised bow at different cruising speeds ensures the lasting continuity of that clear view. Given the length of the waterline and the comfort of the ‘cruiser’ version for the ‘Monachus-Issa 45’, we underline the main features - unique, classically elegant, comfortable and safe!

Just out side of Prevost Harbor on Stuart Island we get a closer look at the recent shipwreck of the Norwester, John Wayne's first yacht, and more formally known as a museum located in La Conner, Washington. Unfortunately, it would seem her sailing days are over. After exploring Stuart Island for a couple days, its time to weigh anchor and raise the sails once more!

A FREAK SWELL wrecks our Williams Minijet 😭 and We dive the famous Salt Pier in Bonaire | Aequus Ep9
We visit the Famous Salt Pier once again but this time to dive from the shoreline and in the company of our good friends Ryan and Sophie from @RyanSophieSailing . We see some very unusual sea life and it was definitely one of the best dives so far in Bonaire. AND... On another supposedly ‘normal’ day James and I went to shore to do some work in an internet café and whilst we were there we had an urgent call come through from Sophie…. A freak swell comes into the bay of Bonaire and disaster strikes when our Williams Jet Tender takes a bashing and gets caught underneath the dinghy dock. The tender fills up with sea water and as other yacht owners quickly move their tenders to safety, ours is completely underwater!!! As we watch every yacht sway heavily from side to side we fear for Aequus and try and make it back to her as quickly as possible to ensure she doesn’t also take a hit and swing around in the opposite direction and hit the shoreline. 3 long and arduous days were spent trying to fix the Minijet, speaking to Williams UK was part of the repair process, including several visits to shore by paddle board for parts and supplies and countless oil changes! Day 4 saw the final fate of William!!!.... Timestamps... 00:00 Introduction 02:50 Diving the Salt Pier in Bonaire 06:22 What happened to our Williams Tender 15:15 Trying to save the engine
The Allures 45.9 aluminum centerboard sailboat is the archetypal bluewater cruiser, offering the freedom, ease of operation and performance expected by the most demanding of sailors for their round-the-world sailing projects. Seaworthiness, elegance and performance symbolize the unique expertise of Allures Yachting, as demonstrated in this video.
Digging Out Our Tender, Rowboat AGAIN! (Ep34) Well folks, we told you we would have a video here and there during the summer while you wait for Season 02 to come out in September 2021! Here is a SEASON 01 EXTRA! There was a huge storm that came out of Lake Michigan's South West, causing a 4 foot surge in the north. We thought we had the rowboat pulled up high enough, we even had it all the way up in the trees. We were wrong, and we paid for it. _________________________________________________________________________ To help support this new sailing channel by becoming a Patreon, click here: https://www.patreon.com/Windward2Eden ___________________________________________________________________________ #BOATSINKS #DiggingOutBoat #BoatFail

Ahoy, As our Crossing proceeds we stopped at Isla Socorro. A legendary dive destination to see big sharks and the huge Oceanic Manta Rays. As this is something we all had on our Bucketlist we dove down and found them. Or did they found us? What a pleasure to see the Mantas gliding through the crystal clear water, seemingly motionless, elegant and majestic. It also looked like the sharks liked ZERO and we were surrounded by Silky, Grey and Whitetip sharks. Even though most of the crew never saw a shark so close we all enjoyed it and overcame our anxieties.. While in Luperon, we arranged for a driver and rented a car to explore some cool spots in Puerto Plata and Santiago. We'll show you some good spots to provision and how awesome the Parqueo Charcos Damajagua or 27 Waterfalls is. The waterfalls are amazing and a must see in Puerto Plata. We also explore a huge abandoned all inclusive resort right in Luperon before checking out of Luperon Bay. WHERE WE DROPPED ANCHOR - Luperon Bay, Luperon Dominican Republic CHECK OUT PROCESS - Go to the Port Authority with your check-in papers to obtain a receipt when ready to check out. This will show that you have paid for your stay and any possible outstanding overstay fees (The Port Authority was closed on the Sunday we were checking out, so we were able to go straight to the Armada. Since our stay was less than 30 days, there was no outstanding monies owed and we did not require a receipt - they knew we would have already paid upon entry with our check-in paperwork) - Bring the receipt to the Armada (navy) when requesting your Despacho (dispatch) to check out of the port - Armada will then bring the despacho to your vessel, at which point, you are required to leave the port OUR WATERMAKER - SeaWaterPro AC Single Membrane - a purchase made through the link below helps to support our journey at no extra cost https://seawaterpro.com?sca_ref=1318981.ElEepUm59l VISIT OUR SWAG SHOP - show your support of our channel by rockin some cool stuff 😎 https://sailing-jibsea.creator-spring.com IF YOU'D LIKE TO SUPPORT OUR JOURNEY - receive exclusive updates and bonus footage https://www.patreon.com/jibsea OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT US - to make a one time contribution to support our journey and channel PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/jibsea Interac E-Transfer: sailingjibsea@gmail.com WANT MORE? I visited The Netherlands a couple of weeks ago. Zeelander Yachts are located there in the middle of the beautiful Dutch countryside and a host of historic windmills. Their new production facility is quite extraordinary...as is the Z72 Yacht!

Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V700 with a Rode External mic with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action, underwater scenes and small blogging is done with two Osmo action cams. Some boat shots are done with a Dji gimbal camera. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. We have a treat for you with our newest episode - and the great news that our Methacrylate has arrived! Now this means we can permanently bond our hull pieces together! Before we get ourselves to the point of no return though, we need to figure out a way to suspend the panels to clean them up as well as get the bonding agent on before they're placed onto the hull. Starting small, we decide to work the forward inner hull pieces first since they only weight about 150 pounds (75 kg) each. So sit back and join us for this episode where Matt once again 'MacGyver's' his way through a situation with what we have on hand in the tent. We hope you enjoy! Much love from Annapolis! During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing".

This is Part 2 of the Barefoot Doctors explaining their choices when faced with having to decide on which factory options they would get for their new Leopard 50 Catamaran! Hope you find it really useful.... This is a deep dive into the choices that you have make when you buy a boat - the decisions made here are our choices based on what we want in the future and how we want to go forward with our new Leopard 50 catamaran. It also shows that there will be things that you don't know on the options list and how to work through the decisions. Join us, the Barefoot Doctors for another exciting episode of the process of getting a new boat into the water - very exciting, confusing and only time will tell if the decisions we made (and the ones you may have to make too) are the right choices.... The free TUFMINDS program is released as a smartphone app under the Exqisit Life Foundation Charity, a registered not for profit and requires financial support to fund the free program. TUFMINDS saves lives by intervening at the point of suicide and pulling everyone to higher levels of mental resilience, wellbeing and functioning. it also creates better attitudes, resilience and coping - all very important for sailors facing difficult situations at sea. Join us as we tether up, prepare our jack lines, fill our empty stomachs and slip off into the cold, dark windy night... as we set sail for Mazatlán on the MEXICAN MAINLAND, and all the palm trees and palapas that would no doubt be waiting for us! This is a 200 mile passage across the Tropic of Cancer, we had a great weather window that should see us completing nearly all of it under sail... Peter and Tom are gay sailors who learned to sail relatively recently in the San Francisco Bay, before casting off the lines to cruise Mexico and sail around the world! Thank you!
