Sans que nous ayons à nous concerter, chacun son tour s’éveille à la sonnerie du minuteur que nous avons programmé toutes les heures. L’allure sous laquelle nous avançons est la préférée de notre Lion, au bon plein, sous alizé régulier 12-13 nœuds, un ris dans la grand-voile et gennak, sa vitesse est quasi constante à 10 nœuds ! Cyril en est tout émoustiller ! Fier des performances de son acolyte, il se plait à le galvaniser, comme pourrait le faire un jockey envers son cheval qui s’affiche outsider ! Chaque mille gagné à cette course est sujet à un nouveau challenge, faisant envisager au terme de cet hémisphère sud, des perspectives de records ! C’est à croire que la monture est aussi pressée que son cavalier à passer l’équateur, une sorte de reconnaissance mutuelle les abreuve, avant que le traditionnel petit rhum les récompense à douze heures quarante-huit locale sur la ligne équatoriale. Les prouesses de notre infatigable Blacky sont remarquables, soixante milles en six heures trente, cent onze en douze, et pour le moment, aucun signe de la zone de convergence… Après notre hydro-générateur, c’est au tour de notre chargeur, alimenté par la génératrice, de donner un signe de faiblesse, enfin du moins de se mettre en sécurité momentanément, pour on ne sait quelle raison ! Plus d’un mois que nous avons quitté la Namibie, 27 jours de navigation, compris les derniers 196,4 milles au 01º14'348 nord ; 46º01'198 ouest, nous en sommes à 3786 milles… À l’heure où j’écris, juste où nous commençons à croiser des sargasses, nous passons au large de l’embouchure de l’Amazone… À 8,2 nœuds de moyenne, maintenant au près, nord-nord-est, nous devrions arriver en Guyane dans 2 ou 3 jours ! Et plus nous nous rapprochons, plus l’impatience nous gagne, les yeux régulièrement rivés sur le traceur, nous voyons défiler les milles, sans oser croire la date estimée d’arrivée. We also visit Highborne Cay on a quest for our final snorkeling spot in the Bahamas. Little did we know it was a short distance from the marina where sharks are fed remnants from the day's catch. Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of Sailing in the last 7 days. This is the Sailing World on Water, June Eleven, 2021. The Ocean Race Europe saw another foiling yacht crash in Cascais as the fleet departed on Leg 2. Charlie Enright and his US Team in 11th Hour Racing, crashed into a parked yacht, in a last minute dodging manoeuvre. They damaged their foil and had to replace it with a "Hull Plug." They started two hours later. We show last Sunday's start of Leg 2 from Cascais to Alicante in Spain in the Mediterranean which transits the tides and gales of the straights of Gibraltar. The RORC is seeing a large entry list of IMOCA 60 yachts in the coming Rolex Fastnet Race. This edition sees the finish in France and a lot of planning is going into how to accommodate all the international sailors.   The Foiling fleet of JF 35's had their regatta last weekend and Realteam Sailing owned by Esteban Garcia and co-skippered by Jérôme Clerc triumphed on the final day of the TF35 Mies, with wins in both races before a lack of breeze ended the day early. After a successful 2020 event in late October last year, a fleet of 38 women and 69 men windsurfers gathered on Lake Garda for the 2021, iQFOiL International Games, hosted by Univela Sailing, in Campione del Garda.   Day 6 is the Medal Race Day of the Hempel World Sailing Series Twenty Twenty One Allianz Cup in Medemblik Netherlands.   Now over to Cascais for the The Ocean Race Europe, Leg 2 start.

Ein Überführungstörn von Les Sables d’Olonne in die Türkei auf einer Lagoon 42. Halbzeit! Wir haben Mallorca erreicht. 1500 Seemeilen quer über die Biskaya, auf dem Atlantik und durch die Straße von Gibraltar liegen hinter uns. Doch das Mittelmeer empfängt uns mit mässigem Wetter und miesem Wind - nämlich Flaute. Doch auf halber Strecke zwischen Mallorca und Sardinien frischt der Wind auf und wir sausen unter Gennaker mit bis zu zehn Knoten über die Wellen. Jens (JR) und Christine haben uns auf den Balearen verlassen. An Bord bleiben ich (JB) und Gorm. Sebastian stösst nach einer Woche an Land wieder zu uns. Und er bringt viel Kummer mit. Nämlich seine Frau Alessandra, eine Italienerin, und seine Nichte Helene. Da kann auf unserer Tour durch den Süden Italiens nichts schief laufen.
