Congratulations to the new Owners of the Lagoon 42 - Playtime 3 To many new adventures to come on your new beautiful Lagoon! 🤩 Here's a quick behind-the-scenes of the christening. Experience our beautiful Lagoon 42. The new design is a collaboration between exterior designer Patrick Le Quement and the naval architects of France’s VPLP Design, renowned for their racing hulls. As with all Lagoons, the underside of the gullwing bridgedeck was configured to minimize pounding in rough seas. Her other great features include glazed vertical windows that bend around corners to cut down on heat inside, a composite bimini that angles up to give the impression of suspension and a circular coachroof that forms a compound curve all around the cabin house. to give the boat a modern and curvaceous look. The boat has reduced weight, thanks to the infused, injection-molded construction that yields an all-up lightship weight of just over 26,000lb. A structural center beam adds strength and also secures the forestay fitting, a Code 0 sprit, the anchor roller and an anchor chain well that runs atop the beam rather than below. The 42 mast has been set aft to open up the foretriangle and allow for more downwind sail choices. It also keeps the weight centered and reduces pitching. The compression post is in the center of the saloon, where it actually makes a good handhold. The boom is shorter while the mast is taller, creating an efficient high-aspect-ratio sailplan. With the square-top mainsail which adds another 40ft² of sail area over the standard mainsail, powers the boat more effectively. The self-tacking jib moves on a track forward of the mast, thereby making shorthanded sailing easier. The deck is easy to walk around and the transoms wide enough for easy boarding from a dock or dinghy with just two low steps that lead up to the single-level cockpit. The cockpit dinette to starboard easily seats eight, a lounge to port will be cozy for two, and another small seat spans the space just ahead of the davits. The raised helm is to port and communication is easy from here to the cockpit while visibility forward is good. Unlike typically crowded helm stations, there is plenty of room for two people to work, one steering and one working the two Harken winches that manage most of the lines. Despite its large feel and ample power the boat can be easily sailed singlehanded, as everything is within reach of the wheel. Besides our trip to the Revillagigedo Islands (Socorro, Sand Benedicto and Roca Partida) we also visited the carribean side of Mexico. We stayed in Playa del Carmen and went to different Cenotes in the area and also took a boat trip to Cozumel for one day (great visibility and lots of fish but hysteric guides). Luckily the the Bull sharks were still in the area so we also were able to see them from not so far away. Also the Remoras were there and very playful. Accompany us sailing around the world from the very beginning! We are Anne & Marcel, liveaboards on a small sailboat called "Zeezot". We gave away all our possessions that found no place onboard or which are no longer of any use in our new travelling life style. Mid of July we crossed the Bay of Biscay with our sailboat. And the Atlantic showed us two faces; a beautiful one and an ugly one. But it was all worth it. Especially when at the other end of the Biscay Spain is welcoming us and we can sail the awesome Rias and cast anchor in remote bays.

It was a very exciting and much-anticipated day – both for the Balance Catamarans team and sailing community in general. Cape Town laid on a perfectly clear winter’s day for the occasion, and she went into the water to the background of a beautiful golden sunrise and Table Mountain in the background. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Entre les grains Harry Potter, vicieux et pernicieux qui se façonnent en un claquement de doigt, les rafales à 32 nœuds, le temps pourri, le courant contraire, vous avez le choix des synonymes : énervante, déplaisante, irritante mais je suis tentée d’utiliser, merdique ! Bon j’avoue, ça manque de délicatesse, mais franchement, le mot n’est pas hyperbolique ! Dans une mer croisée, on passe du nord-est au sud-est de 3 nœuds à 8 nœuds, toutes les conditions sont réunies pour dégouter de la navigation ! Alors pour évacuer sa lassitude, mon capitaine compose. Il chante ! Il en a marre, marre de se trainer dans ce brouillon d’océan et d’algues, marre d’entendre les voiles asséner de coups la mature, marre de devoir user des moteurs pour avancer ! C’est dans ces moments là que l’on aimerait savoir interpréter au mieux les éléments. Éclaircir le côté obscur et ambigu de ce comportement cabalistique. On se surprend alors à rêvasser à la lueur atmosphérique à des mouillages placides et surplombés du moirage d’un superbe arc en ciel, avec nos voiles en ciseaux, nous arrivons presque à faire abstraction des nuisances… Les 25 nœuds de vent constant ont balayé les nuages, le ciel s’en retrouve éclatant de bleuté. Voiles réduites, Blacky fait de son mieux pour passer les vagues qui le font tressauter de douleur, du moins c’est l’effet que ça nous fait. Cette maltraitance est cruelle. Il faut subir ! Pourtant, nous avons un challenge, écumer 162 milles en vingt-quatre heures pour arriver en Martinique de jour. La chasse est ouverte, les fous, libres, dans leurs ardeurs, plongent sur leur repas. Les exocets, vifs, essaient de fuir, chacun à sa chance, c’est la loi de la nature ! Nous passons Sainte Lucie à 11 nœuds, la navigation est éprouvante…Le rêve des Antilles, il se trouve sur les plages et dans les mouillages, pour les navigations, c’est une autre histoire ! Comme des petits saumons, nous revenons aux sources, celles de notre rencontre avec l’Amour de ma vie. 🌺 Ia Orana, Décembre 2019, Tahiti : j'emménage à bord de mon tout premier voilier Tethys, un magnifique "VIA38" en aluminium de 11,5m. Pour me faire la main, je navigue accompagnée de la famille et d'amis jusqu'à Moorea et Tetiaroa, à une demi-journée de Tahiti, puis jusqu'à Huahine à une journée de navigation, lorsque soudain arrivent le coronavirus et le confinement...
