Wir genießen den Sommer in der Karibik in vollen Zügen! Zusammen mit @girasolesailing9955 und Chris von der Bonita verbringen wir eine schöne Zeit. Nachdem hier auf Martinique die ersten Lockerungen eintreten zieht es uns oft raus in die Natur und wir gehen viel auf Entdeckungstour. Viele Strandbesuche stehen auf dem Programm und wir erkunden auch die Mangroven im Nationalpark von Martinique. Wir haben vorher gar nicht gewusst wie wichtig die Mangroven, gerade für kleine tropische Inseln und deren Ökosystem, sind. Bevor wir aber irgendwohin segeln können, müssen wir unser Unterwasserschiff reinigen. Und auch das wird wie so oft eine Teamaufgabe. Echt toll sich auf Freunde immer so verlassen zu können. Zu guter letzt ist da noch Kerstins Geburtstag den wir in Grand Anse D’Arlet einem sehr schönen, aber leeren touristischen Hotspot verbringen! It took us 10 months to sail here! We finally made it after broken ankles, broken boats and broken engines, to the iconic white beaches and turquoise clear waters of the Whitsundays. Slim is determined to beat Soph in every board game onboard Nakama and is not afraid to rub it in. He makes up for it by cooking dinner and showing you all how to make our classically good, extremely simple flatbreads that are perfect for cruisers between bakeries or anyone wanting to get basic. We wake and swim in the clear waters before pulling up anchor to head to Tongue Bay to do the Hill Inlet lookout walk, where you can look down on the white silica sand, islands and water to gain a perspective like no other. Fun lake sail with my mom. It was her first time sailing and my first time in full control of the boat. The weather honestly couldn’t have been better, great wind and blue skies! All in all, it was another great experience to gain more knowledge and sailing skills. Hope you enjoy!

Saaaaalve Elementos!! Depois de muito trabalho para cortar o chumbo iniciamos a derreter e encher a quilha com muitos cuidados, visto que uma queimadura seria terrível... Depois da quilha cheia iniciei a correção com massa plastica e a pintura de vinil bronze terminando assim a saga da quilha.

Sempre que precisa tirar o barco da água é um momento meio tenso, mas é necessário para fazer as manutenções que precisam. La vie au mouillage n'est pas sans surprises... Nous sommes réveillés en pleine nuit par un bateau voisin qui vient percuter notre étrave, nous obligeant à veiller pendant plus de 5h pour éviter que ce voilier de 9m ne revienne se poser sur nous... Après vérification de son mouillage, il s'avère qu'il n'a pas de chaîne mais seulement 30m de câblot qui ne lui permettent pas de se comporter comme tous les autres bateaux dans la baie. Mamie vient nous rendre visite pour 1 semaine et nous en profitons pour poursuivre notre tour de Majorque en naviguant en flottille vers la côte Nord avec nos amis de @Sailing Nomad Citizen et @Navika Sailing . Well, this was unexpected. Strings and patches of pumice from the eruption in the Ogasawara Islands ( where a new island has been forming since August) have reached Amami Oshima and clogging up some of the harbors. I feel bad for the fisherman whose livelihood depends on leaving port. Even a coast guard vessel was disabled when pumice particles were sucked into the engine. But I finally was able to find a `hole` in the weather and make my way from Miyazaki Marian to Aburatsu Fishing port where I was asked to tie up alongside a derelict vessel. We take a lovely stroll around Aore Island which turns into a long expedition to find some very well hidden WWII ammunition bunkers. We did in fact find not one but three bunkers and learned more about the war effort that took place in this remote part of the world. Once the exploring was over we needed to start making our way back to Port Villa to check out of the country and taking what we believed was forecasted as a light wind window to make the 150nm trip turned out to be a bash into 24knots on the nose with very confused seas. We needed new Portlights for our Catamaran Sailboat! We are refitting our 1996 Sailing Catamaran for long range off grid cruising. Our Fountaine Pajot Venezia 42 has had many modifications over the years. Unfortunately a previous owner removed the original portlights and replaced them with simple Plexiglas bolted to the hull. We didn't feel comfortable with the 1/4 inch plexiglass windows that we believe a previous owner installed as a cost saving method. We have decided to remove the old portlights (plexiglass) and install new Vetus Marine Ocean rated port lights. This is a major step to our goal of cruising and ocean passage. Thanks for watching! E così ho fatto anche la mia prima regata al lago, al lago di Viverone. Cercavo un posto dove fare due bordi vicino alla casa di terra, qui nel Canavese, mi sono dunque imbattuta in questo lago e nel Circolo Nautico Torino che mi ha dato la possibilità di farlo. Simpatici e disponibili, con ristorante e bar annesso, mi hanno dato a disposizione un Meteor. Per me era la prima volta che portavo una barca, che non fosse la mia, in veste di comandante; ammetto l'apprensione.
