Here is a new recipe idea that we prepared for you : Penne with tomato sauce, black olives and rucola 4 portions - Penne pasta 300g - Olive oil 50ml - Tomato pulp 300g - 1 clove of garlic - 1 Onion (medium piece) - Cherry tomatoes 200 g - Black olives 300 g - 1 packet of rucola - Basil, thyme, oregano Cook pasta, al dente. Fry diced onion in olive oil, after browning add garlic and sliced black olives. Add the tomato pulp. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Boil it. Add pasta to the sauce straight from the water, drained but not rinsed with cold water. Add chopped basil and halved cherry tomatoes. Portion out the pasta. Decorate it with rucola, basil and fresh pepper. Voilà!

Whilst sailing in Cardiff, Wales last month, we were approached by a Coastguard Helicopter and after contacting us on the VHF, we realised they wanted to land on our boat. Here's the footage i got from one of the craziest experience of my life! Sorry if the noise of the helicopter is loud at points- It was hard to cut it out! The infamous double-handed transatlantic race is always a crowd puller and the line-up provides the first clue. Whether it be the monster Ultime trimarans, or the rapidly evolving and fiercely competitive Class 40s, the IMOCA 60s or the Oceanfifty tris, this is the sharp end of the shorthanded grand prix world. When people talk of the cutting edge of offshore racing, this is it. The course is also fascinating and takes the fleet from Le Havre to the finish in Martinique, but via different waypoints depending on the class. The Ultimes have the longest course at 7,500miles while the Class 40s have the shortest at 4,600miles. But whatever the route to the Caribbean finish, the forecasts for tricky weather made it clear that this year's TJV would be every bit as challenging as the reputation it has gained. This week we enjoy the last of the tuamotus before continuing our journey and sail to Tahiti. Kieran gets his childhood dream come true and like a child full of excitement he heads off towards the waves. We celebrate our sailing friend Massimos 75th birthday with locally cooked lobster and fish at the false pass of Toau. Him and his wife Paula are attempting to circumnavigate on their Amel 54. We applaud them and wish we will be as brave as them at their age. As as hectic weather approaches we make a spontaneous decision to leave at night and sail to Tahiti. Carla paints the PushPit where the Bimini is going to sit in the stern of the boat. We will have a nice sitting area up there with outside furniture. The kitchen final arrives. Good job that Charlie, the yard manager lift it all on his tractor for us to take it to the boat. Otherwise we would've to take it all up on the ladder. We get out our 640AH Lithium batteries to check the size for the housing. We will need a very big cabinet to fit all the batteries in. Another two weeks and the saloon will be ready! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Wir haben Lissabon hinter uns gelassen und sind nach Madeira (Porto Santo) aufgebrochen! Und das war anfangs nicht ohne: Eine - zum Glück harmlose - Orca Begegnung in unserer Flotte vor Cascais machte alle etwas nervös. Dann war an Tag 2 deutlich mehr Wind und Welle (konstant 20-25 Knoten Wind, bis zu 4 Meter hohe Wellen) als vorhergesagt da. Dazu kamen extreme Riggprobleme bei unserem Bekannten und zu guter Letzt noch ein kleines Motorproblem bei uns. Es war also alles andere als langweilig! Insgesamt sind wir aber sehr zufrieden und stolz auf unsere Manatee. Ansonsten ist nämlich nichts kaputt gegangen und dass, obwohl wir zum Teil mit etwas zu viel Segel unterwegs waren.
