Richard Hudson and David Beaks, co-owners of the Farr 45 Pretty Woman have drawn together a crew that combines youth and experience. Amongst their younger crew are several of the RPAYC youth sailing team including former National Womens’ Match Racing winners. Here Richard explains his goal in bringing youth to his crew, while his young proteges describe their Hobart experiences.

Racing to Hobart for a remarkable 41st time, Bruce Taylor reflected on this unusual race where his crew was seeing parts of the Tasmanian east coast at closer quarters than ever before. He also reflects on his crew of which almost half have completed this race 25 times on Bruce’s various Chutzpahs.

It was a change of scene for Maritimo skipper Michael Spies who was skippering Bill Barry -Cotter's Schumaker 54 to Hobart in 2021, having skippered the Katwinchar for him in 2019. Spies describes their race and offers some thoughts on possible causes for the high retirement rate in this year's race

Bow Caddy caught up with Black Jack's navigator Alex Nolan (and his son Billy) to discuss the route they took south to take Line Honours.

After a close battle with Ichi Ban, Sam Haynes is currently the club-house leader for overall Handicap honours.

Stefan Racing were 4th over the line in this year's race and we caught up with Grant Wharrington and some of his crew, which include three father/son combinations, to talk about their race.

The grand finale of our shore leave in the USA was the Annapolis Boat Show where we hung our with 30+ Sailing Youtubers for a week. This massive event required a lot of work behind the scenes and in this episode we dive into the madness of the weeks leading up it which included adding support to the deck (for the parties), stocking up on booze, setting up the booth at the show, sorting and organizing merchandise, and arranging the 5 RVs, 1 van and 1 tent in the yard where power and water was shared :) And what a show it was! We met a ton of fantastic people, enjoyed the show - and after show - festivities and somehow made it out alive at the end of it all! We spent our final days in the USA finishing up work related jobs including replacing the rig on our friends 36 foot Catalina, Westwind. Bill also worked to sand and paint her bottom and replace all nav and wind instruments, plus install a radar. Once the work is complete we enjoy a lovely afternoon sail with Bill's family. It was a fall to remember!! We vertrekken uit La Rochelle voor de overtocht van zo'n 360 mijl over de Golf van Biskaje, een berucht stuk water dat tussen Frankrijk en Spanje ligt. In deze video zie je hoe het er tijdens een overtocht aan toe gaat. De overtocht gaat heel voorspoedig, maar net vlak voor we A Coruña binnenlopen komt er nog een flinke bui met onweer en wind over. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Como sou aventureiro por natureza, resolvi criar um desafio: sair de Morrinhos, GO, e chegar até Paraty, RJ, onde mora minha filha.
