There is a serious need for speed out there right now. From state of the art super sleek foiling Moths that will go upwind at 20knots, to ice yachts that will hit 80mph and more - both of which we cover in this episode. Two are focussed on the outright sailing speed record that look to flight as a large part of the answer. And yet the very team you might have thought was up for a record breaking blast along a 500m course is actually having a crack at being the fastest on dry land. Emirates Team New Zealand might have led the foiling agenda for over a decade and have two consecutive America’s Cup wins to prove it, but they now want to set a speed record on land. In part 2 of the Albin Ballad 30 refit we rebuild the v-berth by moving the chain locker bulkhead aft and replacing the original plastic 18 gal water tank with a 45 gal integral tank constructed out of divinycell foam board and fiberglass instead of plywood. This saves a little weight but ensures no future rot if there is a pinhole leak in the fiberglass somewhere. Model #103499 Optional - You might reuse your existing deck water fill fitting. But I now prefer not to install the deck inlet to save cost and clutter and because the tank should be filled by pouring the water jugs into the tank access plate or bringing the hose thru the forward hatch and into the access plate so as not to overfill and stress the plastic access plate seal. If you do use a deck fill, then best to pump out about a gallon of water at the sink spout to address that issue.

Poi cena a casa mia dove chi era di religione islamica ha bevuto acqua, gli altri vino. Senza che gli uni si meravigliassero degli altri.

Für Mitte März ist es bitterkalt, nachts sinken die Temperaturen in die Nähe des Gefrierpunktes. Nicht die besten Bedingungen für einen relaxten Überführungstörn von Slowenien in die Türkei. Mit an Bord: Jan und Mark aus Kaş. In diesem Video übernehmen wir das nagelneue Boot made in Giebelstadt im slowenischen Izola, checken es erst auf Mängel und dann samt der Bavaria C38 aus Slowenien aus. Das Etappenziel ist Korfu, rund 460 Seemeilen entfernt. Wie bei allen neuen Booten lassen die ersten Malheure nicht lange auf sich warten. Was wohl als erstes aus- beziehungsweise herunterfällt?

We go out and test the 48V scooter battery and the new cable extender harness with the e-propulsion motor. The test goes really well and we motor about all morning so it definitely works. I do need to re-do the harness as the thinner wire got a little bit hot for my liking and the battery did cut out once. However i'm sure that was the draw being a little too much for the total capacity. Benefits of the new battery are: 1. That it can be put in the front of the boat so its not hanging off the back. 2. It gives me an extended range if needed. 3. Its much lighter than the epropulsion battery 4. Its much cheaper! Negatives 1. I don't think the battery is managed quite as well by the motor so it can cut out if its getting low and you want to motor at high power. 2. It can fall out of the boat if we capsize. The epropulsion one will float!! 3. One of Slims best childhood mates from our home town is currently living in Cairns and we think it's about time we go annoy him. We are straight into the beautiful waterfalls and waterholes of Cairns before Jonah decides it's a great idea to jump off a 50 metre tower like structure into a small waterhole below. Yes, we are going Bungee Jumping, ahhhhh! We passed the bar for some liquid courage before climbing 50 metres of stairs upwards, it's beginning to look A LOT higher. Slim takes the Bungee on first, and makes it look easy. Soph next, screaming and squawking like a chicken, and even shedding a few tears, the nice man behind her encourages the jump. Although, gut wrenching, we have concluded that diving head first off a 50 metre platform is an excellent way to shake off stress and any anxieties. Boy has all this screaming built up an appetite for burgers, we gather the rest of the crew and head for a greasy and wonderful meal before continuing to the best waterfall we have ever been to. Hello! In this video, we say our goodbyes to friends in Almerimar and have an overnight sail to Estepona, further West along the coast of Spain. We pull into port there and set up camp for a few days where we make some progress on some big boat upgrades we've been wanting to do for a while, bringing Navika into the 21st century. We do an epoxy pour countertop for our galley (we use Epodex epoxy which was great by the way), fix our bilge pump, measure up for new water tanks and install some cockpit speakers. We visit the beautiful old town of Estepona, which has such an Andalusian and Spanish vibe and we happen to be there at a unsettling time when the forest fires of the Sierra Bermeja took place. This Grand Soleil 50, built by Cantiere Del Pardo, has been very well updated and upgraded by her current owner and is equipped with the right gear to sail long distances. She is a real fast performance cruiser and has teak laid decks, a wide teak laid cockpit with contoured benches, a hinged swimming platform and a deep sail locker in the center of the fore deck. The deck layout is well thought out and the visibility forward is outstanding, mainly because of the low deck house. Very well equipped with; a 75hp diesel engine, retractable bow thruster, folding prop, generator, complete B&G navigation pack, new solar panels, water maker, new bimini and sprayhood, new dinghy with outboard, new life raft, etc. Furthermore, sloop rigged with new Lazy Bag and Lazy Jacks, sails from 2018 and electric winches. The interior of this Grand Soleil 50 is airy and light, and offers great comfort. She can accommodate up to 8 persons in her master cabin with ensuite fore, her two guest cabins aft sharing the second head compartment and the convertible saloon. And to make your stay on board even more enjoyable she is fitted out with air conditioning, electric toilets, plenty of storage space, etc. In short: a well-equipped and very well updated sailing yacht that offers liveability and seaworthiness in all comfort.
