With a race lost on Friday at the 44Cup Portorož World Championship, to recoup the schedule four races were held today (Saturday). The race area was further offshore with the medieval nearby town of Piran as an eyecatching backdrop in one direction with another headland to weather strongly affecting the light breeze causing it to shift frequently between the south and southwest. This made for highly tactical racing with much position changing.

Solo segelnd ab Cuxhaven westwärts über die Nordsee entlang der ostfriesischen Inseln, weiter zwischen Vlieland und Terschelling ins Ijsselmmer. Eigentlich nichts Erwähnenswertes, aber die Nordsee zeigte sich von einer untypisch sanften, wunderschönen Seite und trotzdem gut für ein sportliches Etmal, zumindest mit der leichten TwoRavens aus IOR Zeiten. 180 NM in 31 h mit 31 ft. Als ersten Hafen in den Niederlanden nach 24 Stunden Wachphase hätte ich mir Vlieland gewünscht, aber zur Hochsaison hängt dort meistens das kleine gemeine Schild "VOLL" in der Hafeneinfahrt und es kamen nochmal 6 Stunden obendrauf bis nach Workum. Trotzdem, ein sanfter und fixer Schlag auf der oft gnadenlosen Nordsee. Herrlich, wie man unbeschwert vom Zivilisationsalltag loslassen kann, aber auch intensiv und lange an fundamentalen Erlebnissen mit der Natur festhält.
