So, here goes, this is a video of me launching my Lugger. I chose a pretty crappy day to do a video of this and I do make a mistake first time round, but here we go!! We anchored in the Venice lagoon and dingy over to the Venice canals. We were told from another sailor we met back in Greece that you were allowed to dingy through them, but when we got to the canals we were stopped by a police boat and told to turn around. We ended up having to sneak in the back way... here is the footage! Hope you enjoy :)

One of those pre-winter jobs - cleaning out the stove and flue! I've only had the one fire since moving onboard, and I hadn't yet cleaned out the stove, but it's something I knew I'd have to do before lighting it again. I'm not sure when the previous owners last did it, but it was in a very sorry-looking state! It's not perfect even now, but it's a lot better than it was. Sandwiched between the outside and inside stove jobs, is some lovely cruising! Couldn't have had better weather for this week's footage :)

In March 2022 "De Tukker" was purchased by the EcoClipper cooperative and was directly moved to Talsma shipyard in Franeker, NL. She underwent a major refit of 7 months; replacing 3/4 of her entire bottom including part of the frames. She also received a new galley (on deck) and 50 cm ballast keel. ..and now "De Tukker" has set sail again! In Den Helder interior work and last steel work will be done. "De Tukker"  will be carrying cargo and passengers under sail in 2023.

Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn’t have a boat.
