Graciosa - Coup de vent, plongée et gazole. Arrivés jeudi à 18h. L'idée, à la Graciosa, c'était de prendre 2 jours pour récupérer de la traversée. Et de partir dimanche matin pour Gran Canaria. La météo en à décidé autrement. Alors que tous les modèles météo prévoyaient 6 nœuds de vent, à 4h du matin on a senti le bateau monter et descendre sur une très grosse amplitude, sur mon alarme de mouillage, Ikigaï avait bien dérapé vers la plage et vers d'autres bateaux. Une fois sur le pont, tous les bateaux autour de nous gesticilaient dans tous les sens. On allume l'anémometre, boum 30 nœuds de vent. on regarde les étraves des voisins, elles montaient et descendaient d'1,50 m à deux mètres. Impossible de refaire le mouillage dans ces conditions. De plus, les bateaux avaient tellement tournés que je suspectais que notre chaîne en ait croisée une autre. impossible de laisser le bateau se stabiliser seul car nous avions glissé d'une distance qui nous plaçait Ikigaï dans l'étrave et la chaîne du voilier juste derrière nous. Moteur allumé il a fallut maintenir le bateau en place, face au vent. Vers 11h, la situation a pu être stabilisée. Unfortunately it's not all carefree and smooth even on day one. Just before we finished our first day of the trip we encountered an unexpected and unwelcome surprise. We are on a boat so we fully expect something to pop up and need attention, but it's not what we wanted this quickly into the journey when we just want to get moving. #boatlife #onboardlifestyle #nomadiclife

After we left Solomons Island, we were ready to get south as the temps there were dropping. We had several long days of cruising with a few extended stops in places we visited on the way north. We buddy boated with Ocean Cowboy and Nickelby from the Solomons to Langley, VA where we anchored near the Air Force base. From there, we headed to Norfolk and then Chesapeake, VA with Ocean Cowboy. After we left the free docks at Chesapeake, VA we cruised 3 long days that brought us to Beaufort, NC where we spent a few days recharging.
