Thank you to everyone for your awesome messages and Jacksons treats donations last week! You guys are really amazing and we appreciate you so much for helping us continue to help the stray animals in the islands we visit. It's much more difficult to do normal tasks when living on a boat, so this week we hire a driver for the day to run some errands to stock up on dog food, puppy milk, paper towels, puppy pads, garbage bags etc. Pick up our fabric and foam for our new cushions that our last puppies destroyed lol. We get fuel as it's been so hot down here we literally had the AC on for the puppies controlling the temperature this last few weeks and we're completely empty and all the marinas nearby are also empty! Then lastly pick up our anti-foul from International Paints! Then finally lift the boat, ready to start a week of land life in the boatyard. Côté tribord, le verdict vient de tomber : une vis de brisée, les sept autres desserrées et le dumper cassé. D’après notre dépanneur, très optimiste, tout ça n’est pas bien grave. Pour un résultat optimum, selon lui, nous devons rester à l’eau pour qu’il répare jeudi. 28 novembre 2022, lundi, nous avons dû reprendre rendez-vous pour sortir Black Lion sur le tarmac. Manni nous a planté ! De retard en indifférence, il nous a laissé poireauter 6 jours, sans aucunes excuses, pour finalement se pointer ce matin, devant la darse, en s’étonnant que l’on est pris la décision de nous débrouiller sans lui ! Fallait bien avancer ! Nous ne pouvions plus rester là, à attendre indéfiniment. Alors, Cyril a pris les devants ! N’en pouvant plus de tergiverser sur la façon de réparer ces satanés Sail Drives, il a dans un premier temps, remonté notre propulseur tri-bord, le moins endommagé, afin qu’il puisse nous aider à manœuvrer jusqu’au chantier. Puis en attendant la sortie, voulant avancer sur les futurs travaux à terre, nous nous sommes lancés dans le démontage de l’embase achetée d’occasion quelques semaines plus tôt. Et devinez quoi ? Irrécupérable ! 500 euros envolés ! Le corps qui devait nous servir à remplacer le nôtre, est complètement corrodé de l’intérieur, oxydé, scellé avec tout le mécanisme. Blacky est calé entre les deux quais de levage. L’angoisse s’estompe. Nous avions pourtant qu’un demi mille à faire. En d’autres circonstances, nous aurions été juste préoccupés par la sortie de l’eau, mais aujourd’hui nous avions de quoi être sou-cieux ! Un lion boiteux, un guindeau récalcitrant, quelques rafales, tout était concilié pour nous stresser. Aidés de deux annexes, tout s’est très bien passé. Les sangles sont positionnées, le travel lift s’actionne, notre félin s’élève…

After a few months of waiting out hurricane season and having to jump over a few hurdles that life kept throwing at us it was FINALY time to leave Trinidad. We had two weeks to prepare ourselves and wait for an "okay" weather window that just seemed to never come. We provisioned ALOT, stocked up on diesel, had our last hot unlimited water showers for a while, quickly sewed some window shades to help with the heat inside the boat, received our Anchor light from Lopolight, connected the anchor light, Cleaned the bottom of Saoirse and had to say goodbye to some amazing people we met over the few months we spent at Peakes / Trinidad. It was finally time to leave the dark diesel infested waters of Chaguaramas Bay and head across to Tobago... Blue Waters here we come! We just had to get through the horrible current and wind that was on the nose of Saoirse sometimes leaving us doing a blinding speed of 0.8 knots with both engines on. After after 26 hours we finally reached Mount Irvine Bay in Tobago. BLUE WATER! The start of our Caribbean Adventure.

A quick trip out to Fitzroy Reef, one of our favourite places in the world. The last trip before we knuckled back down to finish the truck & work towards our holidays.

E così oggi, 10 dicembre, nell'isola si poteva parlare di "maltempo": cielo coperto, qualche goccia di pioggia, mare mosso e tanto cento. La temperatura durante il giorno era stabile sio 19 gradi. Insomma, l'inverno di Djerba di giorno non è mai freddo. Diversa invece è la notte quando la temperatura scende sotto i 10 gradi. Mai, però, come bel deserto:qualche giorno fa, nell'oasi di Ksar Ghelane, di giorno stavamo al calduccio di 23 gradi, di notte al freddo di un grado sotto zero

Nous sommes content, car durant nos deux grosses traversées, Gibraltar / Canaries et Canaries / Cap Vert nous n'avons rien cassé. En arrivant à Mindelo, beaucoup de bateaux avaient de grosses réparations à effectuer : tube d'enrouleur de génois vrillé, moteurs ayant pris l'eau par l'échappement, voiles déchirées, balcon et chandeliers cassés... Je vous explique la TV à bord de notre bateau et les deux autres solutions via IPTV par internet avec un boitier Android TV, Smart TV ou Apple TV par exemple et quelques explications sur la reception des chaînes par satellite qui est limitée suivant votre position et la taille de votre parabole. Les deux fournisseurs francais pour capter tf1, m6, c8 sont TNTSat by Canal et Fransat. chacun à un satellite dédié en Europe. Sur nos bateaux au mouillage et en navigation, il vous faut une parabole auto orientable en 3 axes donc dans un dome €€€ En revanche au port, il faudra simplement orienté l'antenne vers la direction du sat dans le ciel sans obstacle donc une antenne premier prix peut etre envisageable avec qulques contrainte comme je l'explique dans cette vidéo. Pour la partie qui me concerne, recevoir la télé gratuitement par TNT, mon antenne Glomex Talitha est formidable. Vous pouvez brancher soit 1 tv + 1 autoradio FM, soit deux TV. Puisque l'amplificateur fourni à deux sorties. Enfin, la radio DAB est uniquement un principe de difusion haute qualité restreint en zone urbaine donc ne nous concerne pas en France en navigation hauturiere... Malgrés que les radios et autoradio on pris partis d'installer par defaut ce mode de fonctionnement.

Dans cette épisode je vous présente mon voyage en république dominicaine, fais en 2021 avant le début des travaux et de l’hiver , question de faire le plein d’Energie pour l’hiver faute de pouvoir le faire avec le voilier pour cette année . Une visite de la marina cap cana , Viste d’un parc qui est une réserve naturel , d’un petit resto a l entre de la route pour la foret de la république , d’un hôtel dans une montagne , et la façon qu’ il récolte les noix coconut .

Salut les petits loups ⛵⛵ Enfin la peinture de la coque peut se faire , après une semaine de ponçage et de galère . On a la chance d'avoir un bon créneau météo pour étaler notre peinture en trois couches . Pas de primaire , les professionnels me l'on confirmer (!)
