It is designed to be fast and responsive, making it a great choice for cruising and racing. The boat's hull shape, sail plan, and overall design contribute to its impressive speed and manoeuvrability. The First 47.7 offers a spacious and comfortable interior, making it suitable for extended cruising or living aboard. 'Flyaway Paul' has a well-designed layout with ample storage, multiple cabins, and a good galley. The boat's interior is crafted with high-quality materials, providing a pleasant ambience down below with a slick, glossy feel that has become such a trade­mark of Beneteau’s range. From seating to locker doors, sweeping curves dominate most areas, while the moulded headliner and highly polished stainless steel tie rods provide a sharp modern contrast throughout the layout. For racers, 'Flyaway Pau'l has an extensive sail wardrobe and superb deck gear, including large Lewmar ST60 3-speed primary winches and two electric coach roof winches. The boat is currently Category 2 compliant. The rig was fully serviced in 2019, with components removed, lubricated as necessary and refitted. The Rod rigging was disassembled and the rod ends NDT tested with dye penetrant. For Cruisers, the racing equipment makes for easy sail handling and there is a roller reef forestay that can be fitted to the boat. The boat was re-engined in 2016 with a Volvo 55hp D255F Diesel with approximately 500 hours recorded.

Impressive day as we first witness locals from the Vanuatu island of Pentecost risk their lives jumping head first of a wooden tower and we have our own adventure being ambushed by twice the amount of wind sailing to Santo

See the Oxley parasailor flying in full glory and no sight of land for 11 days - 4 hours~! also only one other sign of human life in the past 6 days.... Les Saintes is a group of 5 islands off of the south coast of Guadeloupe. It was one of our top 5 places we’ve stopped at in the Caribbean. It is quaint, occasionally quiet, and beautiful to explore. With the islands being so small it is easy to walk around or rent an electric bicycle. Only 2 of the 5 islands is inhabited and the population of all of the islands is around 3500 people. The town of Terre De Haut is beautiful, colourful and full of people riding bicycles and scooters through the streets. Best part is there is a beautiful little pink bakery with a giant ice cream statue out front that sells the most delicious Baguettes 🤪 The water at Les Saintes is beautiful and clear. The snorkelling is incredible and you can spend hours in the water exploring many different coral shelf areas. Unfortunately the one area off of Terre De Haut where you can anchor is being torn up by anchors, the coral reaches far out into the anchorage but you can avoid anchoring on coral by checking on your navionics and keeping a wide berth around the coral areas 🦞🐠🐡 Les Saintes is a definite must stop on your way north or south up the Caribbean chain.

The 2023 Youth Squad recently gathered for a set of camps hosted by the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club and the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. The camps saw some of Australia's best young sailors attend, train and compete together under the watchful eye of some of Australia's top coaches in preparation for their class worlds later this year.
