We’re feeling shafted. Making the best of being stuck Steve worked on the water system replacing the accumulator, backing board, and the whole house filter housing. Finally found a marina that could haul us out and Tow Boat expertly maneuvered us there seamlessly backing us into the well. Who knew you could get a draw bridge to open off schedule when you’re under tow? With all the expenses we’ve accumulated we’re feeling a bit shafted. After failing last week with our spray gun, we trade up, and CAN'T BELIEVE the great results we get! After having primed the v-berth and bulkhead 5 last week, we continue aft in the guest hull, working on bulkhead 6, plus the hull leading to the guest head. And since the owner's hull has a lot of completed portions as well, we prime the areas between bulkheads 5 and 6. We switch over to Colby's gun to spray, and it makes a WORLD of difference for application. Based on the multiple different colors of fairing compound and guide coats on there, it's amazing what a difference that first coat of primer makes to tie the area all together. This was also our first chance to cover a daggerboard case and get a feel for what the finished product will look like in the space. We also had the chance to go see the Blue Angels fly in Annapolis. Each year they come out to perform a show for the Naval Academy's graduation, and each year so far we've found ourselves squinting and trying to catch the show from Kentmorr. So this year we put ourselves front and center on a friend's sailboat, right in the middle of all the action. Wow! What a great time it has been in Grenada. We visited a beach towards the south west side of the island and had a little fun over there. The view of the blue water beaches with the mountains surrounding us was so beautiful. After spending the evening on the beach we headed out to have dinner in a lovely restaurant overlooking the beach. The food was amazing! The next day we had to make a quick trip to the pharmacy because Ruby and Emerson have been complaining about an ear ache. So we had to get treatments for it. Right after that we pulled off from the main island to head up north towards Carriacou island, which is also an island of Grenada. That is where we were supposed to check out. It was so sad to leave beautiful Grenada. The people have been so amazing. We definitely got a little attached to this place! 😆 After some sailing and meeting new people along the way we pulled up into the northern island. We spent the night there to get checked out the next day. But the night was horrible! The winds were bad so we had to keep our eyes up throughout the night. The next day got a taxi and headed out to get checked out. Everybody was so kind except for a lady in there. We were pretty frustrated by the experience. But we got it done and started to head out to Union Island! After checking in we decided to get a quick haircut. Then we explored more of the island. We made great progress this week on the forebeam, finally solving our main wood and joint 'snapping' issues. We also got in a lot of sanding of the outboard side of the boat port canoe, as well as some prep work on patching small errors. We built a large table for our bulkhead work and started on routing the first bulkhead. So, our Schionning Designs, 50' performance / Cruising catamaran is coming along. Soon, it will start to look like a sailboat and eventually, be ready to sail us around the world on our circumnavigation voyage with Captain Blood, Admiral Marianne, and our XO Brian and salty crew! As we sail in more exposed waters, we also sail into areas of more swell. The disturbed weather patterns of spring time, do not help in finding the calmness one dreams off... the nicest anchorage perhaps is only as good as the sea state is, unless perhaps you have a multihull! But lets not complain too much, life is great and with a bit of research a calm anchorage can always be found, allowing more boatwork :) Thanks for Watching! Aber es sollte anders kommen. Immerhin haben wir es bis Skagen geschafft. Von dort über die westschwedischen Schären an der Westküste Dänemarks vorbei bis wieder nach Wismar. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Schaut selbst in den folgenden Videos, welche Häfen und Ankerplätze wir angelaufen haben und was wir dort erlebt haben.
