In dieser Folge beginnt die Renovierung zweier Seitenfenster und ich laminiere gekrümmte Sperrholzleisten Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei generalüberholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Mein zweiter Anlauf, von Bremerhaven zu den Shetlands zu kommen - wieder die Inseln nicht erreicht; dafür aber in drei schottischen Häfen abgewiesen worden, das Wappen hat zu viel Tiefgang, und die Industriehäfen im Norden sind für Sportboote auch nicht geeignet. Also ohne Landgang zurück. 6,5 Tage und 900 Meilen von Bremerhaven nach Helgoland, das muss einem erst einmal einer nachmachen! Das Wetter war nicht zu dramatisch, max. 23 Knoten Wind, entspanntes Segeln und viel lehrreicher Unterricht im Seile spleißen, verbinden, aufschießen, Knotenkunde, Softschäkel, Gennakertraining u.v.m Viel Spaß beim Schauen!
