It is a well-built, high-quality cruising catamaran known for its seaworthiness, prestige, good performance, and spacious, comfortable accommodations, making it suitable for both demanding sailors and those seeking a luxurious cruising experience. Privilege Catamaran’s outstanding pedigree, dating back 36 years, remains unmatched as arguably the world’s finest cruising catamaran to be produced in the world. Built to the highest standards and for discerning, uncompromising owners, they represent the very best one desires in every aspect of their design and build and all the way to the finishing touches. For a bit of background, the company was created in 1985 by internationally renowned sailor Phillipe Jeantot (founder of the Vendee Globe yacht race). Based on his unequalled ocean sailing experience and profound understanding of the dynamics of ocean condition, particularly for sailing vessels versus hull design, Jeantot set out to design catamarans who would set a new benchmark in the world of multihull sailing, with an obsession for perfection which applied from construction quality and stability, while at the same time combining comfort, luxury, liveability, durability and without compromising on performance, which is surprisingly outstanding for a yacht without daggerboards, but which elongated transoms improves upwind sailing performance, as well as minimise the dreaded “hobby-horsing” in a short “chop” typical of more stubby modern multihull designs. Built in France, in the heart of the world’s most dynamic yacht building area at Les Sables d’Olonne, Privilege Catamaran’s reputation for excellence quickly grew to international proportions. They were already industry leader by 1989. Unlike boats built primarily to satisfy the inexhaustible demand for the charter industry, Privilege addresses a diametrically opposed end of the market, with each boat individually tailored and each and every one of them a statement in itself: luxury on the ocean, superb stability, reliability, safety, performance and durability. NYM has assisted hundreds of cruisers, new or old to this magical lifestyle make their dreams come true with ease and with the sense that they come first. We purposefully keep our company stocks limited to have more time to devote to both buyers and sellers.
AC38 Event Director talks to Matt Sheahan about this ambitious project that seeks to bring spectators back in touch with the boats, the teams and their bases.

Welcome back aboard Moor R & R! Episode 14. Wow — this week’s adventure was one I’ll never forget! We travelled to some of the most remote and untouched islands in the Whitsundays — places few ever get the chance to explore! Our journey begins at Goldsmith Island, where we explored the bay and spotted so many turtles gliding through the clear blue water. Gary even caught a few sharks — what a moment! 🦈 Next, we set sail for Cockermouth Island, an absolute paradise that left me speechless. From its crystal-clear waters and rocky islets to a little cheeky skinny dip, this place had it all! I could have stayed much longer, but the winds had other plans. Then it was off to Brampton Island, which completely surprised us! From hiking Brampton Peak for incredible views, to walking the sandbar between Carlisle and Brampton, and even exploring the peaceful Pelican Island, there was so much to love about this spot. It’s been an unforgettable week of adventure, nature, and island magic — so sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s episode aboard Moor R & R. 💙⛵️ Come along for the highs and lows of life at sea – the joy of community, the challenge of sailing, and all the fun we get up too !!! This new footage shows two Cure 55s moving gracefully along the Australian coastline, a testament to what happens when meticulous craftsmanship, intelligent design, and a deep understanding of sailors’ needs come together. The Cure 55 is light, stiff, responsive, and remarkably easy to handle. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor chasing exhilaration or a cruising family seeking simplicity and comfort, she delivers a rare balance: performance you can feel, and confidence you can trust. Built for real-world cruising needs: safety, comfort, smart storage, efficient systems, and an innovative layout that works equally well for coastal cruising or long-range, off-grid passagemaking. Sail Faster, Arrive Sooner & Stay Longer with the Cure 55. #innovationbydesign #Curemarine #Cure55
Today we finally take W. Grebe, our old wooden sailboat, out under sail for the very first time. We raise the main, test the foresail, get a visit from The Reluctant Adventurer, and—of course—make a few mistakes along the way, including a potentially large docking near-miss that taught us a lot about how this boat handles in weird conditions. Of course, because this is a first time for something important with the boat, we are joined by Rick and Anna @WhatsNext-acrc You know things are interesting when Rick is involved. This series documents the honest, real process of learning an unfamiliar boat, fixing what needs fixing, and getting her ready for winter cruising and a larger journey to Scotland and beyond. 4K VIDEO: Our journey has brought us to #belitung Island — a gem of #indonesia , surrounded by dozens of small #tropical islands. https://www.youtube.com/@UCnFwi3w2FDFK7Vzag5Dn-3A In this journey, we explore them by #yacht and tender, landing on beaches with snow-white sand, tasting local food in small family restaurants, and sharing the flavors of authentic Indonesia. But the main challenge lies ahead: we are heading to an uninhabited island where, according to rumors, a unique treasure is hidden. To get there, we must navigate through strong currents and coastal reefs, which turns our trip into a real quest. EP64 of Sailing Roam is full of surprises! What started as prepping the anchor chain became a complete windlass replacement. Watch Geri and Shawn clean, repair, and upgrade their cruising catamaran in this hands-on refit episode. After nearly 18 months of refit work, it was finally time to tackle one of the last untouched systems on our sailboat refit: the windlass and chain locker, all in preparation for a shiny new anchor chain. In this episode, we dig into inspecting our existing windlass and gypsy to see if they were still serviceable—or if repair, maintenance, or full replacement was unavoidable. What we found was worse than expected, and honestly a little scary: the windlass was in such poor condition that we’re lucky it hadn’t failed on us already. As Shawn wrestled with removing the windlass, we uncovered another major issue hiding in plain sight—a rotten wood bulkhead inside the chain locker. Years of rust, dirt, and debris from the old galvanized anchor chain had turned the chain locker into a filthy, neglected space. Geri took on the big cleanup job, sanding and cleaning the chain locker down to bare surfaces, while Shawn cut out the rotten bulkhead entirely. To make sure this problem never comes back, we replaced the failed wood with Coosa board, a rot-proof composite material ideal for marine environments. We tabbed the Coosa in with fiberglass, creating a strong, permanent structural repair. After the glass work cured, Geri sanded the resin drips, applied epoxy primer, and finished the space with bilge coat paint. The transformation is incredibly satisfying—watching a grimy, rust-stained chain locker become a clean, bright, and beautiful space again. The locker is now fully prepped and ready to receive new anchor chain… just as soon as the new windlass arrives. This episode is a perfect example of refit life: one project leads to another, unexpected problems surface, and in the end the boat is safer, stronger, and better than before. If you enjoy sailboat refits, anchoring systems, windlass repairs, chain locker rebuilds, and real-world cruising prep, this episode is for you. 00:00 Short intro 00:13 Channel intro 00:32 Remove windlass 12:01 Clean out chain locker 12:58 Sand chain locker 17:31 Clean out rotten wood 20:43 Replace wood with Coosa 25:00 Prime and Paint 27:36 Wrap up 27:58 Like, subscribe, BYE! 28:20 End Card ☝More about us, our adventures, and how we do all this on our website. In this special episode of The Art of Boatbuilding, we follow the incredible story of a man reconnecting with the boat he built as a teenager. After six decades in storage, the DN ice boat emerges from the dust of the barn and heads back to where it belongs gliding across the frozen surface once again. With perfect ice conditions on Lake Geneva, the moment finally arrives. What started as a teenage project becomes a lifelong story of craftsmanship, patience, and unfinished dreams finally realized. This is more than a boat launch. It’s a reunion between a builder and the work of his hands, 70 years in the making. “If you’re going to make it, make it beautiful.” Bob Emser As an advocate for backyard boat builders I offer a free 30 minute chat about your project. We were warned about Recife but went anyway... We leave Fernando de Noronha, our first stop in Brazil, and set sail towards mainland. Along our sail through Europe so far several people has warned us about Recife... and that we should skip the city. But crew changes were already planned there and we were a bit curious to see how it really is like. After spending about a week there we found that we really like the city; lots of Brazilian vibes. While it is more intense than cities we are used to, Recife turned out to be a place we are really glad that we visited. 🛠 Subscribe for more updates from our journey as we sail from Sweden to Brazil and the Caribbean. --------------------------------------------- Hi, we’re Thomas and Petra! In late August 2020, we set sail from Sweden on our first big adventure – a year-long journey to the Caribbean and back. Fast forward to October 2023, we took the plunge again and bought a Wasa 530, a sailboat that had been sitting idle for over 15 years. She was in need of some serious TLC, and we started the mission of transforming her into the ultimate blue water cruiser! WattCycle Discount link:https://www.wattcycle.com/?ref=wwkkyjfk Code:keeldragger I purchased a brand new 4-stroke Yamaha 2.5 HP motor about 5 years ago. While I have had it professionally serviced, I have had nothing but problems with it. It has stalled and forced me to break out the oars at Catalina Island, La Cruz De Huanacaxtle (Mexico), French Polynesia, and Hawaii. I've considered buying a different gas outboard engine, but it's hard to stomach the cost as well as deal with the inconvenience of being dependent on gas all of the time. I decided to get a Newport 55 lb salt water trolling motor and pair it up with a 100A WattCycle LifePO4 Trolling Motor battery. Now, I'm not the first person to try this and locally, my friend Andy on @sailingsole was one of the first sailors that I saw using trolling motors with lithium batteries on a dinghy. He did a great episode on his sea trials but what as missing at the time was a good solution to show charge state of the battery while the trolling motor was in use. WattCycle has solved that with their BMS and BlueTooth mobile app integration. I can use the WattCycle app to monitor the battery state in real-time--and I can see both how much charge is remaining as well as how much run-time is remaining at different throttle settings. This information was the missing link for me - and it's solved the range anxiety issue. If you are interested in picking up a Wattcycle, I've put a link and a discount code at the top. A Seawind 1260 Circumnavigation A story from a European couple who set out with big sailing goals and a brand new Seawind 1260, inspiring those who dare to dream... If you're wondering "could this be us?" ...then this interview is for you. Klaus and Andrea didn’t grow up crossing oceans. Before taking delivery of their Seawind 1260 in Vietnam in 2022, their sailing background was limited to short seasonal trips and sailing charters. Yet they made a bold decision: Set sail around the world and place their trust in a proven vessel designed to be a silent partner through the steap learning curve they were taking on. Perhaps what they lacked in years of sailing experience, they made up for in planning, preparation, persistence, teamwork, and ultimate confidence in the platform beneath them. This is not “fun in the sun” cruising. This is real bluewater sailing and a reminder that you don’t need to be born an ocean sailor to become one when you have big dreams, the right mindset and the right boat to turn it all into reality. If you’ve been dreaming about offshore passages but questioning whether you’re ready enough, this story might be the perspective you need. It proves that with the right partner on the water, the transition from coastal dreamer to global explorer is within your reach. Day in the Life with Erwan & Clément 🇫🇷⛵️ Ahead of the first World Cup of the season in Palma de Mallorca, we take you behind the scenes with the French 49er World Champs for a full day of training, competition, and a bit of fun along the way. The day kicks off with a relaxed breakfast at the hotel alongside the rest of the French 49er squad—fueling up before a big day ahead. But it’s not straight to the water just yet… first stop: the golf course ⛳️ A friendly (and slightly competitive) round with teammates and the coach sets the tone. After that, it’s time to switch gears. A quick sandwich at the boat park to recharge, then straight into prep mode, rigging, tuning, and getting everything dialed in. Out on the water, things get serious. Intense training sessions focused on testing new equipment and sharpening boat handling skills as they prepare for the upcoming racing. Back ashore, it’s time for a debrief, breaking down the session, fine-tuning details, and planning the next steps. But the day’s not over yet… a bit of paddel to unwind 🎾 followed by a well-earned dinner at an Indian restaurant to wrap it all up. From early fuel-ups to late-night laughs, this is what it takes behind the scenes. 🎥 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more inside access to life on the 49er circuit!
