Tim, Emmie and their four year old daughter, Célestine set sail from the UK in August 2025. They are currently paused in Cape Verde having cruised in Gambia and Senegal along the way. In a few weeks they may head to the Caribbean or sail south for Brazil, Argentina or Chile. They will decide nearer the time! Team Shadowfax were recently made OCC Roving Rear Commodores and their cruising adventure has got off to a great start. In this video Tim and Emmie chat about their adventure so far and their plans for the future.

After five days at sea, the fleet has been put through a serious test. For Malizia 4, there has been no time to rest. After the earlier issue with the port foil, the crew has faced further technical problems onboard, all while sailing through some seriously demanding conditions. Imagine your autopilot suddenly stops working in the middle of a squall, with gusts reaching 40 knots, while one crew member is steering through a rough sea, another is reefing the mainsail and the others are down below trying to get the system back up and running. That was the reality onboard Malizia 4. And Gauthier's footage from inside the action is SPECTACULAR. ⚡️ With almost 1,500 nautical miles covered, the fleet has been pushed hard by strong winds, big seas and constantly changing conditions. Now, a high-pressure bubble ahead could bring the boats back together and completely reshuffle the race. Von Viani Bay geht es mit Roland übers Wasser nach Taveuni – endlich mal wieder „City“! Einkaufen, Marktbesuch und natürlich unsere inzwischen obligatorische Eierkontrolle. 😂 Zurück in Viani Bay beginnt dann die große Mission Banane. Bananen finden wir zwar keine, dafür jede Menge Papayas und vor allem wunderbare Begegnungen: Wir treffen einen 79-jährigen Fischer, einen jungen Mann, der sich sein eigenes Paddel baut, und eine unglaublich herzliche Familie, die mit uns teilt, was sie hat. Und als wäre das noch nicht genug für einen ganz normalen Tag, endet unser Ausflug auch noch mit einer kleinen Rettungsaktion auf dem Wasser. We take our Highfield dinghy on an incredible tour of the east coast of Koh Phangan, exploring some of the most beautiful parts of the island — including beaches and bays that are only accessible by boat. Koh Phangan is famous for its parties, but there’s so much more to this island. We spend the day cruising the coastline, finding secluded spots and taking in some of the best scenery we’ve seen in Thailand. That night, we head to a party… and when we wake up the next morning, we’re amazed to discover it’s STILL going at 8AM — and apparently it has no plans of stopping anytime soon! We bought a 60-foot ex-Federal Police vessel on eBay… sight unseen. So why on earth did we do it? After announcing the purchase of Salloo, we’ve had SO many questions: Are we crazy? The final dream was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started building a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finishing the house we found a boat that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her. We sailed for 2 years (exploring the Brazilian coast and part of the Caribbean). Then we sold our boat and we moved to Europe. Right now the dream is happening and we are building a new aluminum 43ft sailboat and a new life with our son Oli. We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams.
