After selling our Nordhavn 40 long range passagemaker, we purchased a new (to us) Nordhavn 56 Motorsailer and are in the process of moving her from Florida to Ensenada, Mexico for the North Pacific hurricane season. In this video, we transit the Panama Canal. Sometimes small pleasure boats do it in 2 days. We ended up doing in on one long day on April 21, 2019. We picked up our canal advisor I (the guy that rides on your boat and tells you where to go and what to do) in Colon Harbor on the Atlantic side at 4:30 am and dropped him off at about 5:30 pm on the Pacific Ocean side of the canal. It was not without a few harrowing moments, including having lock lines break on a boat we were tied to, but we made it through with no injuries or damage to the boat. Hi everyone! Sorry to keep you waiting, but finally, here is part 2 of my solo sailingadventure to Fair Isle! In this video my drone got striked by a bird and got destroyed. This was in the middle of shooting the southern lighthouse on the island. And it happened just before I was ready to walk to the north side of to shoot the amazing sceneries up there. I really wanted those shots, so with no other alternative I set sail for Shetland in some really nice wavey weather! Next day I was lucky enough to get a drone and plunged back out in the waves down to Fair Isle again. And I did not regret! After sailing back upo to Shetland again I was even lucky enough to walk to Great Britains most northern point, wish is Muckle Flugga Lighthouse on Shetland. Because of the effects of apparent wind and the change wind speed with altitude the apparent wind direction changes with height above the water. After being sent off in typical splendour from Sydney Harbour, the 85-strong fleet travels south along the New South Wales coast before braving unpredictable Bass Strait. The 628-nautical mile adventure continues down the east coast of Tasmania to Storm Bay where it turns and heads towards the Derwent River for the final stretch to the finish. Wild Oats XI took line honours for a record ninth time, holding off three other Super Maxis in one of the tightest finishes in race history, while Tasmanian entry Alive was overall Tattersall Cup winner on handicap. We feel like we're on King Kongs island and keep an eye open if we see him :) Back in Mindelo we pack up and sail towards the island São Nicolau and catch a fish that's being caught by a Blue Marlin and then a shark! Talk about a popular fish :) We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved in to our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds takes us. In this week's video we depart from our home in the Florida Keys in attempt to do a quick grocery run. With only 2 hours to fish we head out to 120 feet where we came across a wreck. We dropped down a bait to see what was home and we were able to pick off a mutton snapper making the trip a success! There after we brought the fish home to clean and cook and briefly go over our rig and techniques. After that we head inside and cook up the fish for a delicious dinner. Enjoy!
