Have you wondered whether a wind generator is a good addition to your boats power system? We were sick of wondering and funnily enough we had a brand new second hand unit stored in the bow of our boat! This week we're installing the wind gen aboard our steel, sloop rigged yacht, Innerbloom. We decide the best location to install the generator and design a system based on what materials we have on hand. We help a friend remove their old wind generator and get given a mounting pole that we alter to suit our design! Josh shows you how he fits off and terminates a cable as we install the generators control unit and connect to our batteries. A berth in the Airlie beach marina is a bit out of our price range so all this work is done whilst on anchor (with a pit stop at the public dock). Boat work is like solving a puzzle, this latest install was a great test of our ability to safely engineer a life changing boat upgrade. Iniziamo parlando della potenza espressa in cavalli (CV o HP, a seconda del sistema di misura). La potenza necessaria per una barca planante dipende da diversi fattori, tra cui le dimensioni della barca, il suo peso, il tipo di utilizzo previsto, e le condizioni dell'acqua. In generale, le barche plananti richiedono una maggiore potenza rispetto alle barche a dislocamento per poter "salire" sulla superficie dell'acqua, riducendo così la resistenza e aumentando la velocità. Un buon punto di partenza è considerare un rapporto di potenza rispetto al peso. Per esempio, una regola pratica potrebbe essere quella di avere almeno 40 cavalli per tonnellata per assicurare una buona planata. Tuttavia, questa è solo una stima approssimativa. Le barche più piccole e leggere potrebbero necessitare di meno potenza per planare, mentre quelle più grandi e pesanti ne richiederanno di più.
