KLM AMALIA LIVEABOARD - UBER SCUBA KOMODO - Dive - Eat - Sleep - Repeat What if you didn’t have to worry about early wake up calls, and long trips to access remote sites? Wouldn’t it be great to go where the day boats can’t? Carry out exploratory dives, and stay at the best spots for as long as you’d like? For avid divers, the lure of a Komodo liveaboard is undeniable. You go further, avoid the crowds, and are free to dive the top spots day or night. Feel the gentle rocking of the boat as you drift off to sleep under a blanket of stars. Wake up already moored at the best sites in the park. Your morning coffee, and freshly baked bread waiting on deck. You’ll hit the water long before the day boats show up. Crystal Rock in the early morning is a real treat. You may have had breakfast, but the schools of Grey Sharks are still on the prowl. Hover nearby as these sleek hunters pick out, then pick off, their prey. Meet up with the mantas as we head central. Grab your BCD, fins and jump in… Trek across Rinca as we hunt by camera for the legendary Komodo Dragons. We will hike across the hilly paths to the most breathtaking viewpoint, watch as wild boar roam the land and eagle’s take charge of the skies. We’ll moor off a pristine white sand beach. Take one of our stand up paddleboards to explore the shoreline. Take your snorkel and swim with the thousands of reef fish – just don’t forget your camera! Or work on your tan and relax on the sun deck. There is always freshly squeezed juice, hot ginger tea, and ice cold water to keep you hydrated. As you prepare to descend for your next dive, let your senses take over as our Chefs prepare culinary delights, made in our open kitchen. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

Das Segelschiff "Eye of the Wind" feierte im Jahr seinen 100sten Geburtstag!

In this episode, Brad repairs the dinghy with a new patch, the family takes a little road trip to Georgia to drop the Oliver and Everly off for a week of fun with their grandparents and cousins, while Brad and Kara celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary. But not without boat drama...while anchored out, the boat got waked and the engine hydrolocked. We called Boat US for a tow to take us back to the marina we had spent the previous week. With the help of a fellow boater and new friend, Matt, who is also a diesel mechanic, Brad and Matt were able to restore the engine the same day by flushing out the salt water and changing the oil several times. We really dodged a major bullet! Phew! For daily updates on our adventure, you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook @unAnchoredAdventures Music credit: 'Glorious' by Adam Friedman
To reinforce the area around the companionway opening and hatch I use square steel tube. This is done using my homemade Hydraulic Frame/Tube bender, curving the tube to suit the shape of the pilot house roof.

Travelling is challenging at times in a foreign country, that is part of the fun! We sail to the city, prepare the boat, provision and check out of New Caledonia... https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we try to sail south east from the greatest surf spot in New Caledonia. We finally have a plan for our future and this involves heading to the city of Noumea to check out of the country. We have some challenging trade winds to negotiate whilst day sailing for 3 days to return to Noumea. Once back in the big smoke it is time to prepare Nandji for our future adventures. We plan to sail north and to more remote areas, therefore we have to make sure Nandji is ready to do this. We fix any minor issues and try to eliminate any problem for the future where we will have no resources to fix stuff. We attempt all this in a foreign country where not many people speak our language or choose to assist.
