Sailing/Partying in Montenegro and Croatia with friends as Crew Ep. 4 It’s summertime in the Adriatic Sea and we are enjoying some beautiful sailing in Montenegro and Croatia with our friends as crew on Tengah. We may party more than we sail in this video, where we are caught in somewhat compromising positions :-), but we also explain what is special about cruising in Montenegro and Croatia and why not many cruisers go there despite the beautiful surroundings. Watch this video if you are interested in knowing more about cruising in Montenegro and Croatia and if you want to judge for yourself if Scott is speaking the truth when he proclaims that he is not drunk at Hula Hula Bar? We mention it in the video, but we saw how many plastic straws we used at Hula Hula Bar and after that, we talked to them about non-plastic straw alternatives which they agreed to take into use in the 2019 season. Hopefully, we made the smallest bit of difference. So if you are going to Hula Hula Bar this summer, please watch out for their non-plastic long straws! Will be awesomeee!!! Crew appearing in this video: Majk - Scott’s friend from Lund, Sweden Pauline - Majk's girlfriend from Lund, Sweden Francisco - Scott’s friend from San Francisco Cristina - Mie’s friend from Stockholm, Sweden Maria - Cristina’s friend from Stockholm, Sweden Per - Scott’s friend from Gothenburg, Sweden Andreas - Per’s friend from Stockholm, Sweden You can always read more about the people who have crewed with us on our homepage, and yes if you want to apply for crewing with us (but maybe not after having watched this video….? :-)) we also have a crew questionnaire here: http://svtengah.com/tengah-community/sv-tengah-crew/ To give you an idea how far behind we are with our video editing, we are currently in the Caribbean (St. Vincent and The Grenadines), but this video takes us back to July last year. We promise to be faster for the next videos :-). Enjoy! - Scott & Mie Music used in this video (in order of appearance): Broke for Free - Summer Spliffs Josh Woodward - Morning Blue Instrumental Loyalty Freak Music - Last Energy for the Day Loyalty Freak Music - Sweat Time Doctor Turtle - Today’s Special Jam Tomorrow Scott Holmes - Green Fields Scott Holmes - Catch Up Sally Scott Holmes - We Made It Blue Dot Sessions - Sunday Lights Scott Holmes - Electronic Vibes Scott Holmes - Hopeful Journey Scott Holmes - Happy Go Lucky Camera Equipment: Sony A7S with Sony 28mm f2.0 lens Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 action camera Zhiyun Crane Gimbal (Version 1) Canon EOS 70D with 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens Microphone: Shure LensHopper VP83 Editing: Final Cut Pro X We have decent enough equipment, but obviously not the latest and greatest. We find that once you have decent enough equipment, the weak link is the person behind the camera, so we’re focusing on that :-)

Ok so this is just my opinion and please feel free to let me know what you think, but basically, although roller furler's and foils like the Harken carbo or Tuff luff systems are great for cruisers and racers respectively, if you sail short handed or want to do a bit of both, hanks are the answer. To my mind the only question is why dont more boats use them?

Marine Electronics: Communications at Sea , Navigation and Sailing Apps / From Sextant to Iridium Go as well as Sailboat navigation through the last 50 years!! Patrick Childress Sailing Videos #35 This is a tour of our Chart Table on our Blue water Sailboat, as we are sailing around the world on our Valiant 40. At our Nav station we have an array of marine electronics for sailing navigation and communication while we are at sea including Navionics electronic charting. Our Raymarine chartplotter and Radar, a Vespermarine AIS Transponder, Iridium GO! and Predictwind with Xgate on the IPad Pro are what we use now. Patrick shows how he navigated his Catalina 27 Juggernaut, circumnavigating in the 1970s with no gps, using only a sextant, an RDF, and paper charts. In 2007, we began our circumnavigation with a small Raymarine chart plotter and Tacktick wireless sailing instruments, Navionics electronic charts, with a laptop, OpenCPN and .kap charts as a backup sailboat navigation system. We used the Icom 710 SSB radio with a Pactor 3 Modem with Airmail/Winlink/Sailmail for staying in touch with other boats and our families. Later we purchased an Ipad with the best sailing apps for navigation, and electronic charts and sailing apps including Navionics, TimeZero iboat, and Ovitalmap. But the Iridum GO! and Predictwind for communication at sea, and for getting our wind and ocean currents while sailing offshore has been a great improvement for marine navigation, communications at sea, getting weather at sea, and for our safety! First of all, I’d like to send out a big Thank You to all of those who have chipped in to support Untie The Lines during the last two weeks! Karl is going to the boat hospital one more time, so your contributions to Untie The Lines will be invested into his fix up. After discussing different options with different professionals, I decided to fix Karl one more time. We will weld an aluminum sheet on top of the existing one again. But this time, I will import the correct matching alloy (Karl is made from 5083 and I am getting 5086) and also a thicker plate from the states. On top of that, we will cut six 10cm diameter holes into the bottom where we will weld the sheet to from the inside...But more about that...😋 Ahoy, Nike & Karl Download the full movie at www.UntieTheLines.com You can support our videos here: www.patreon.com/WhiteSpotPirates or https://www.paypal.me/whitespotpirates For real-time updates, visit: http://www.facebook.com/whitespotpirates http://www.instagram.com/whitespotpirates For background information on the journey visit www.WhiteSpotPirates.com Thanks for watching, liking, sharing and supporting these videos! Every little bit helps! --- This is NOT a live documentary! There is a time difference between filming and publishing due to the time it takes to send data home, to edit the episodes and to internet not always being awailable on those little remote palm tree islands :).

Ylva and I sail north, cross the equator into the northern hemisphere and spend an incredible week anchored nearly alone at Wayag Island. Wayag is very remote, almost impossibly beautiful, the water is very clear and the beaches are empty. We get to know the crew aboard Nordkaperen, Denmarks most famous sailing boat. Its currently on its 6th circle of the planet and it was really interesting to hear some of the stories of this incredible ship. #sailing #learningbydoing #RajaAmpat Indiana Paddlesurf: https://shop.indiana-sup.ch VERNON10X (10% discount code) NEW!!! Amidst a flooding river of outgoing logs and full on trees we decide to anchor Delos in Bloody Bay- Tobago, or rather because of the torrential weather better known as Muddy bay! After winding Delos through the debris field we find a decent anchorage and it's time to begin exploring the scene in this less traveled part of the world. We soon find out about the Blue Food Festival, which is dedicated to making everything imaginable out of the local Dasheen fruit which turns blue when you cook it. We are somewhat impressed... But not really so we decide to set sail to the East coast of Tobago to begin our diving expedition. On the way we are hailed by a dive boat, we think we’re busted and they’re gonna kick us out of the area but it turns out to be chartered by a fantastic group of Canadian divers that buy us a bunch of beers and take us out on their sweet dive boat for a spectacular night dive. YESSS! Reality of Sailing It's Not Always Rainbows and Dolphins 51 Beau and Brandy Sailing In this episode, we finally get a weather window to leave Abacos and sail overnight to Eleuthera. This is our very first overnight sail. We take turns on sleeping and helming. We pretty much have it down to when you are sleepy wake the other person up to take the helm. On the sail down, the wind dies and turns our sail into a much longer sail than we planned. Also once we turn around the tip of Eleuthera, with the winds changing, we had either the option to tack late into the night to get to our planned anchorage or stay on one tack to the MOST PROTECTED anchorage in all of Eleuthera, Hatchet Bay. At this point we are helming in the cold rain and a nice calm anchorage was exactly something we were grateful to see listed on the charts. Plan to not have a plan has become our saying. Six years now Phillip and I have been sailing and sharing here at HaveWind, and—now, especially with our first Atlantic Circle complete!—we’re often asked where all we have traveled by sailboat.  Well, this should explain it!  A six-year HaveWind animated-footage timeline as well as a graphic.  Check out Animated Annie!  : )   While Phillip and I work very hard to keep our boat and our bodies healthy enough to travel, another critical element of that is being able to work remotely and make remote income to fund our cruising. Although it does not always show from our many photos of cocktails, sunsets, kite-surfing sessions, sailing, and traveling, we do spend a good bit of time working remotely on legal matters (we are both attorneys), marketing, writing, and many forms of entrepreneurism. Our main goal at HaveWind is to share the entirety of the lifestyle with you (from the work, the commitments, and the sacrifices) to the infinite and incomparable rewards. Phillip and I have had a fantastic time sharing this inspiring, humbling, thrilling journey with you and we hope we’ve inspired some of you, as well, to pursue your own version of “the cruising dream” along with finding creative ways to fund it. It’s all out there for you, you just have to be creative, a little brave, and a little bit crazy! (That’s required.) Get inspired. And, get on board! We hope you enjoy the six-year show!

To watch the documentary video about "RAGNAR": https://youtu.be/GDaobALK6Ho As my YouTube channel grows in popularity I receive an increasing amount of enquiries from people who dream of owning a yacht. Sometimes the dreams are substantiated with the income necessary to go ahead with a purchase, sometimes not...some ask for a yacht with an ice breaking hull, some for a yacht with a swimming pool, and some for yachts that are insanely fast. But it seems that EVERYBODY wants a yacht with a helipad. This vlog shows 5 of the finest yachts with helipads.

Aquarius was at her last stop in French Polynesia, and her Dessalator water maker started making saltwater! Would we head back to Raiatea, or move ahead without a water maker. At that point Ken thought it was time to learn more about the water maker, and thought we would take the rest of you along for the ride. After settling in at Bay of Island Marina, New Zealand, we met up with Rick from Open Ocean. We had Open Ocean replace the bad membrane, and manufacture a new end cap that had cracked. Rick also gave Ken a little tutorial on the water maker technology. Open Ocean - http://www.openoceanwatermakers.co.nz Also in this vid we meet up with our close friend, artist, photographer, fisherman, surfer, diver, etc., etc., Captain Jeffrey on his Island Packet 460. Rick from Open Ocean was just completing an install of a new water maker aboard Flying Fish, and we wanted to know why Jeffrey waited so long. After exploring Antigua we decide to pay a visit to the largest indigenous market in Central America -Chichicastenango. This famous town is the ideal setting to admire the amazing living of the Mayan culture, abounding in colour, mysticism and a great diversity of products. Not yet tired of being a tourist we head to Lake Atitlan where we night hike to a peak to see the sunrise over the lake and overlook the 3 impressive volcanos that surround the lake. One of my favorite things to eat in New Zealand is Scallops. I love them! On Great Barrier Island we find a secret Scallop spot and take my dad there while he's visiting from Vancouver. Here's how I shuck my scallops to get them ready to cook. The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we started an adventure that changed our lives. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe-5KWJ3eQ8QA3WTWnHuSLg CLICK THE BELL to know when new Videos are up!
