I bought my "super heavy duty" 12v/24v jumper pack just a couple years ago for almost $600 - and it failed!!! I thought it was dead batteries - NOPE. It was a de-laminated powerboard. I called Schumacher Electric and they unapologetically told me it was obsolete and that no parts are available and there never would be. After exploring every angle to get this repaired or replaced, they rushed me off the phone and said "im sorry sir, there is nothing we can do." I called their technical support manager and left him a long message - NO RETURN CALL. So, I found a great company in Canada called ACRC Tools - they had the parts I need in stock. Join me on this video as I repair this expensive, "obsolete" jumper pack. If Schumacher wants to contact me and do the right thing for a longtime customer, I will gladly update my review to reflect the service I receive!

Kiteboarding is something we’ve always wanted to learn. In fact we had a kite on Delos when crossing the South Pacific and nearly killed ourselves trying to learn on our own. But now with an excellent teacher and some new kit we’re ready to give it another shot! Pokemon leads us through the entire setup of a kite and harness- covering the quick release safety gear and the basics of flying. Before we know it we’re body dragging all over the place and ready for our first board lesson. Face plants ensue, and some salt water is pushed down our throats but we succeed and have a few somewhat controlled rides by the end of our lessons. Then Pokemon and his mates show us what it’s all about by giving us a demonstration of what 11 years of every day practice will do to your skills. We ended up learning so much about kiting, got our basic skills down, and left with a passion to learn more about this sport. Following Simon Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/finding_simon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/findingsimon Website: http://simonstiles.com/ Asking Simon - Who are you? I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

We pushed really hard to get the bronze floors finished up so they could be sitting in their places during the open house. In this episode we show how we got the floors ready to start fabricating the supports for the engine beds. Since everything fits in such a small space here and has to be fairly precise, we had to work on fabricating the floors while working wit the actual engine beds we are going to install. We therefore worked on each piece simultaneously to end up with a perfect fit. The stern floors are so much higher in order to be at an appropriate height to accommodate and support the engine which also meant very large wings up the frames. If the ones down the rest of the center line took a while, these were that much more time consuming again! To put the correct twist and bend in a piece of bronze strapping one half inch thick by twenty four inches in length on a small A-frame press was challenging to say the least! Thank you for following along and supporting our endeavor and we would like to thank everyone that came to our Open House! We had a blast! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. Our Gulf Stream Crossing from Port Everglades, FL (Ft. Lauderdale) to Great Harbor Cay, Bahamas was an absolute dream crossing. We crossed at the start of a weak cold front with light SW winds and left Port Everglades at daybreak. We only had to motor-sail for a couple hours then the wind picked up just enough to sail the rest of the way. As we passed Great Isaac Light and got out of the stream the wind picked up a bit and we were cruising along at 10 knots all the way to Great Harbor Cay. This was by far the best Gulf Stream Crossing we have ever had. Super calm conditions and enough wind to sail our catamaran almost the whole way! *Video uploaded in the Bahamas using My Island Wifi* - http://bit.ly/MyIslandWifi The Tula Shop - http://tulasendlesssummer.com/shop-tula/ Support our videos through Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/Tulasendlesssummer Amazon Affiliate Link (just click and do your normal amazon shopping - no extra cost to you) -https://www.amazon.com/shop/fikitensup Tula Tech Talk - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJycOm6L9qqwnSlez5eRdzg Jetty’s Vlog!!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1QACxBejLXp4d5KH4DpPbg @TulasEndlessSummer_Sierra @JettyTheGypsy Facebook.com/tulasendlesssummer OUR NAVIGATION SETUP: iPad (we use Navionics app sold separate) - https://amzn.to/2RG8FGY Waterproof case for iPad (camera doesn’t line up for 6th generation) - https://amzn.to/2Du59wo Cradle for iPad mini in case (a little bulky but it works well) - https://amzn.to/2FcpnN1 Mount for iPad mini in cradle (buy multiple bases for multiple mounting locations) - http://amzn.to/2soZXEM BOATLIFE/CRUISING GEAR: Raw Elements Sunblock -  http://bit.ly/RawElementsTula Use code “Tula” at checkout for 10% off! Margarida is back and we go sailing to explore some of the most beautiful places that the southwestern Caribbean has to offer. Margarida gets seasick on the journey but she soldiers on because she is a tough old trooper. We show off our new Tohatsu 9.8 that was generously bought for us by our wonderful patron Bob. Top stuff BoB. And we get in the groove of enjoying all the pleasures that the reefs and islands provide. Mmmmm crab. Give it thumbs a up if you liked this episode! A huge thank you to those who help keep our boat afloat by supporting our creative process via Patreon. You can be part of the crew for less than the price of a coffee. https://www.patreon.com/CruisingKiwis Sailing in to oarsome Bluewater v stillwater If you’re into water sports involving skiffs and oars, coxswains and crabs, then this is the episode for you. Feast your eyes on Lake Karapiro, mecca of all things rowing in New Zealand. Finn hit the ground running when we returned from Fiji. Now he gets to join with his St Johns College buddies and see whether one month of training really is all you need to get up to speed in a scull. Spoiler alert: He does just fine. Which begs the question, how well could he do if he did some work? Rob discovers his three weeks of training have not left him in the same boat as Finn. (Do you see what I did there?) He struggles with the pace in the father and son race. In the single scull, the first 250 metres are a throw back to his former glory as an Olympic rower. Unfortunately, rowing races are 2000 metres. Rob discreetly retires from the heat. Hoping it’s not too late to trade in his rowing suit for a pipe and slippers. It’s all in a day’s work for the oarsome Hamill boys.

In this short fiction you'll find all the advantages of Ewincher compared to electric winches. You will also be explained why Ewincher's ergonomics is the best of all electric winch handles, and why this ergonomy is so important! ================================================== CAPTAIN: This is getting me nowhere, dammit! CREWMEMBER: Let me try. CAPTAIN: Wowowo what are you doing son, this is the CAPTAIN:’s job! CREWMEMBER: Just a sec, I have something for you, you’re gonna love it! Trust me! CAPTAIN: What’s that? CREWMEMBER: It’s called Ewincher... and it will get us out of here! CAPTAIN: ...but I told you already, I’m about to switch to electric winches soon! CREWMEMBER: Seriously? At that price, that’s one hell of an investment! CAPTAIN: Well, Everyone says it’s the best solution! CREWMEMBER: Listen to your son for once. You’ll need six electric winches, do you realize that? Installing those... is no piece of cake. CAPTAIN: So what? And you Ewincher, how does it work? CREWMEMBER: It’s not like an electric winch. You’ll feel every sensation. There are many modes available... including the manual mode that you can use at any time! That way, you can make the final adjustments yourself. You can’t be more accurate. CAPTAIN: That sounds pretty convenient... CREWMEMBER: Besides, you’ll exhaust your batteries very quickly with electric winches. With Ewincher, the load is tiny! CAPTAIN: Ok my turn, let me try it! CAPTAIN: Oh, you have to hold back the handle! CREWMEMBER: Yes, Ewincher needs to remain motionless if you want to use the electric mode. When you use a normal handle, you can notice that there is a position in which you have a lot of strength. It’s the green area. When you are winching in the red area, it can get pretty difficult and exhausting... With Ewincher, you stay in the green area, so it’s very easy to hold. And the motor does the rest! That’s why Ewincher is shaped like a handle. The ergonomics are perfect. CAPTAIN: I already had one you know... CREWMEMBER: No it’s not the same! CREWMEMBER: They don’t have the same design. Let me explain you why this difference is so important: With all electric winch handles, you always have to restrain the effort. With this one, your body is poorly placed to compensate the load. When it becomes harder to hold, you can hurt yourself. With Ewincher, you have the perfect position. You can handle important loads very easily with minimum effort. CAPTAIN: It’s so light! CREWMEMBER: Easy to handle, see? Did you see the controls directly under your fingers? CAPTAIN: I must admit, it’s really handy. CREWMEMBER: You can even download the Ewincher app. There’s a torque limiter so you can adjust it via your smartphone. Pretty neat, huh? CAPTAIN: Maybe you could download it on my phone... CREWMEMBER: Yes of course, dad. CAPTAIN: It’s really like having a helpful, and quite strong, silent teammate... and always available! CREWMEMBER: Understood, I can’t compete, I’ll leave you two alone then!

Video only in Italian Language. .
