Rebuilding a historic sailing yacht Cutting the Stem / Bow pieces / EP50. Support; http://www.sampsonboat.co.uk/support Become a Patron; http://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco ----- EPISODE 50. …in which we finish the templates for the bow assembly and cut out all the pieces with the chainsaw jig. Meanwhile, I have to deal with a damage to a power-plane, the Shipsaw, a chainsaw, part of my camera, and my wallet! Jack and Joe lose their minds organising all the fastenings in the workshop, and I get to do a bit of amateur furniture-making with a mirror-stand for Cecca. We plane everything in sight, and eat our lunch on a very expensive boutique purpleheart table. ---- To become a Patron - https://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco To donate or support - http://sampsonboat.co.uk/support My Amazon Wishlist http://a.co/76y5IZP For sneaky previews of what’s going on in between Episodes, follow my FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/sampsonboatco and INSTAGRAM http://www.instagram.com/sampsonboatco. Sailing boat life this week takes us from the beautiful, British west coast of Scotland, over to the amazing Island of Ireland, sailing our blue water sail boat (a Trident Warrior 38), across the Irish sea, as we continue our adventure, learning to sail our classic yacht, with the help of our Yacht Master instructor, on our maiden voyage to bring her home. Once in Ireland we explore some of the lively Dublin city, discover some of Irelands dark past, we venture onto one of the most famous Irish sail boats of all time, and we have a chance encounter with one of Irelands most famous sailors, Paddy Barry, who very kindly gives us a boat tour of his 100 year old, fully restored sailing ship. **********Our Updated Filming Kit for 2020!!************* Canon EOS 90D (DSLR Vlogging Camera): https://amzn.to/2EUeEUt DJI Ronin SC (Stabalising Gimbal for Camera): https://amzn.to/2QmmsDN Go Pro Hero 8 Black (action camera): https://amzn.to/2sbxFPA Mavic 2 Zoom (Drone): https://amzn.to/2PTgqLQ Feiyu G6 (handheld go pro gimbal): https://amzn.to/34WYPqB If you are thinking of buying any of this kit and then do so through these links then that will help support Hanks red meat habit. :) Fair Winds **************************************************************

(Ep.83) We got our toilet connected and finally working.. that pressure button was a no go for us so we decided to make it all electrical. We also started on putting our non slip (texture coat) onto the decks by first adding one coat of polyurethane two part paint, throwing on our fine silica sand, waiting for it to dry & then brushing or in our case blowing off the excess sand & then adding your other coats of paint. Once that was complete we got started on doing our lifelines using GP12 or else known as dyneema. Thanks to Luke from Kraken Structures for bringing us all these goodies to help us do it! A huge thank you to those who help keep our boat afloat by supporting our creative process via Patreon. You can be part of the crew for less than the price of a coffee. https://www.patreon.com/CruisingKiwis Sailing with a broken wrist Finn had three goals when we returned to NZ: To row, to row and to row. The season is well and truly in full swing, with the premier competition, Maadi cup - the national schools rowing champs, just around the corner. This is what the teams train for, this is where the wheat is sorted from the chaff. This is not the time for taking up new hobbies like skateboarding or sky diving. That is unless you are Finn Hamill and your head’s in the clouds. Therefore, imagine our surprise when Finn phoned us six days before Maadi to tell us his skateboarding news. He had fractured his wrist when a trick he was practicing went wrong. Trick? Skateboard? These are not words I have ever associated with Finn. Rest, comfrey poultices and a belief in himself saw Finn back on the water five days after his fracture testing the arm to see if he could still compete. It’s about now that you are probably thinking what the? Don’t let him row. We sat down and talked it through. For Finn’s mental health we let him have a go. In truth no one thought he would get beyond the trial. But as you will see, he went a lot further than anyone expected. Nothing ventured nothing gained. You might fail if you do something, but you are doomed if you don’t even try. In other news, Rob catches a trout with his bare hands! Thank you to Mike Rodger and Robyn Aylett for having us to stay during North Island Championships Sid and Cheryl Murphy for having us to stay during Maadi Cup Rob Bristow for additional footage Teive Ly Tahan for trout tickling footage And Seb Fulton who dropped the Single sculls B final to give his all in the double Pngtree arrow vector Music Cricket Farm – Bending spoons Cricket Farm – Nod and smile The Weatherspoons – Cup on the counter Sylvia’s Toaster – Come on home David Mumford – Night without sleep

Azzurra learned a lesson from their fifth place from the first race to be sailed at the Puerto Sherry 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup today. Applying that lesson was the passport to a comprehensive win in the day’s second race, which sees the Italian-Argentine crew back at the top of the regatta leaderboard after six of ten races have been sailed. During the first contest, which was sailed in an 11-13kts sea breeze, Azzurra found themselves too engaged in private battles and consequently making too many tacks. Second race they tacked clear early, and focused on sailing clear and clean in their own lane and let their obvious boat speed do the work for them to lead all the way around the course. Olympic champion Santi Lange picking the better side of the course helped, but theirs was a measured risk. They did not push to the corner and this time made a priority of staying clear of other boats. The Argentinian tactician who joined the team last year has shown an increasing confidence at a venue that is new to the 52 SUPER SERIES and is proving hard to read because the breeze changes often but with no obvious pattern or phase. And Lange cannot attribute any of their success here, so far, to prior knowledge. He won a bronze at the Tornado Worlds here in 2003 but smiles that he “cannot remember a single race”. After six races, Azzzura lead by one single point ahead of the new Bronenosec. Both of the top teams won one race and partnered their victory with a fifth. Top scoring boat of the day was Ergin Imre’s Provezza, which bounced back from a bogey 7,7 yesterday to go 2,2. Similarly, there is no shortage of smiles in the Bronenosec camp, even if they dropped a place on the last run of the last race. But for that they would have been on equal points with Azzurra. Croatia’s young Olympic champion Sime Fantela, on the helm, is adding a new dynamic to a team rammed full of experience. Their new Botin-designed boat, the third from the Quantum-Alegre mould, is immaculately prepared and clearly quick. Meantime the 2018 defending champions Quantum Racing are struggling here, lying seventh of eight. When usually they might be expected to chip away and take places to convert from a poor position, but here they have been unable to. Puerto Sherry 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup Regatta standings after Day 3 1. Azzurra (ARG/ITA) (Alberto Roemmers) (5,1,2,5,5,1) 19 puntos. 2. Bronenosec (RUS) (Vladimir Liubomirov) (4,3,4,3,1,5) 20 p. 3. Provezza (TUR) (Ergin Imre) (1,4,7,7,2,2) 23 p. 4. Sled (USA) (Takashi Okura) (8,2,3,4,4,4) 25 p. 5. Platoon (GER) (Harm Müller-Spreer) (3,6,5,1,3,8) 26 p. 6. Do Schipperke love water? We believe that, like kids, if exposed gently & gradually to water at an early age, Schipperkes become great water dogs. Even if some do not seek time in the water, at least they are comfortable when they have to swim for some reason. Sometimes some Schipperkes start to really seek water adventures when they get older as their personality evolves. Since our Sailing Schipperkes spend much time on the water, we train all our puppies to be relax in the water, swim without undue stress and even to climb back aboard if they felt overboard! Enjoy looking at the training of our 3rd litter of cute Sailing Schipperke puppies! Filmed between March & June 2019 in different locations in Malaysia & Thailand.
My steering pedestal is still leaking into the cabin so I look into where the leak is comming from and try to fix it. It seems like the leak is by the tacometer where there is no gasket mounted, so the water will naturally enter here.

We sailed across the Pacific Ocean! Despite losing our steering and autopilot two days in (massive challenge) we still enjoyed beautiful sunsets, whale watching, fishing, and, of course, lots of wild sailing. It takes some adjusting living inside a large piece of plastic for 18 days. The pace of life is slow at sea. Normal daily activities like cooking, fishing, washing and baking kept us from going nuts and we made it to the beautiful Marquesas islands in French Polynesia sanity intact and we are all still friends. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

In the final leg to Stockholm we leave Kalmar and cross a big stretch of the Baltic. The winds are calm and I find an ingenious way to pull the main sheet back through the track (if I don’t say so myself). The night shift starts again and we are awoken by a glorious sunrise. We arrive in Sandhamn to rain and lastly when arriving into Stockholm we discover we have been given the wrong berth and our berth is way too small. Things will get easier in the sailing game one day we are sure, but we made it!! We actually made it home to Stockholm!

The Sapphire Falls resort hotel at Universal Orlando was a wonderful experience. It's a moderate - moderate + hotel with a crisp clean Coastal - Caribbean theme. Happily this resort hotel has its own water taxi to and from the Universal City Walk and themeparks. The video shows the lobby area with the stone turret that leads from the lobby to the lower level where the Amatista Restaurant and exit to the water taxi are located. You will get a glimpse of the large pool area which is a fabulous zero entry pool with a pool side bar and grill (Drhum Club Kantine), and movies under the stars. Also a snapshot of the Strong Water Tavern which has Tapas in the evening - delish! I highly recommend two tapas to enjoy. Truly a nice retreat for your stay at Universal Orlando. Our family enjoyed it! If you're looking to visit the Universal Orlando theme parks in Florida then we can help plan and book your next adventure. Info@sailsand.com | www.sailandsand.com

A HAVEN FOR PASSIONATE SAILORS! Porto Montenegro Marina, or as some would refer to it just Marina Montenegro, is considered to be one of the best marinas in the Mediterranean. Many passionate boat owners and captains decided to choose our berthing & mooring options due to advantages of our services and marina location itself. Numerous awards throughout the years gave us recognition but the true satisfaction of our superyacht marina success comes from the satisfied yacht owners.
Azimut Yachts has added the S10 to the Azimut’s Grande line, and the yacht will also join the Azimut S Collection, which aims to blend sporty with elegant. Explore more: http://oceanmagazine.com.au/

She resembles her predecessors in speed, agility, and blue-water performance, but her enhancements include an increased hull volume and an innovative interior layout. Like the rest of the Leopard line, the new Leopard 40 includes a light blonde interior with a light, modern and airy feel. However, her interior salon layout is unlike any Leopard before her. Her galley is located forward and the forward-facing settee and table are now located aft. This allows for a panoramic view with large sliding glass doors between the saloon and the aft cockpit. This arrangement promotes easy communication for guests and an open flow between the saloon and the aft cockpit, creating a fusion of indoor and outdoor living space. In addition, the galley area includes a large forward-facing window and an access door to the forward platform of the boat. The access door enhances the open concept feel and easy navigation in and around the yacht. It also promotes ventilation throughout the interior. You won't find a more spacious, open feeling 40 foot Catamaran on the market.
