** NOW SOLD ** Belle Aire is a 2007 Lagoon 500 with Flybridge in excellent condition and now listed exclusively listed for sale with YOTI Multihull at the Boatworks at Coomera on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Commissioned for her first owners in Australia, Belle Aire was specified for long term blue water cruising. The original design brief for the Lagoon 500 was to create a very comfortable, stylish floating apartment capable of double digit boat speeds. From the moment you board Belle Aire, there is a feeling of space and light. Her cockpit seems like an extension of the saloon, with large U-shaped seating around an outdoor dining table. The large, light and scenic saloon has a very complete split galley to port with a 4-burner cooker/oven, dishwasher, front opening fridge, ample s/steel galley bench tops and great storage. To starboard is a huge dinette with L shaped seating with clever folding table. Centrally forward is the navigation desk with duplicate navigation instruments and engine panels. Moving below, the beautifully bright ensuite Owners' cabin is starboard and aft. It features an island style queen sized berth and extensive cupboards and storage in the passage to the ensuite head with enclosed shower. Starboard forward, with its own access from the saloon, is an athwartships orientated queen size berth, with separate toilet and enclosed shower. Forward in the port hull is another athwartships orientated queen sized berth, with separate toilet and enclosed shower. Midships in the port hull is a pantry with freezer and second fridge, a washing machine and more storage. The fourth cabin, port aft, is also has and ensuite and has an island style queen-sized berth. The Flybridge is set up to control the whole boat. Visibility from the helm with is fabulous, with all the electric maneuvering and mainsheet winches within easy reach. At the helm is a Raymarine GPS plotter with radar/AIS and additional Raymarine sailing instruments. A forward cockpit with own bimini makes for a great second entertainment area, especially whilst at anchor. Her easy to handle rig features a mainsail with lazy-jacks and boom bag, furler self-tacking jib and gennaker on a removable furler. "Belle Aire" is powered by twin 75 hp Yanmar diesel engines and an Onan 11 kva genset. A 3.4 meter rib with 15 hp outboard is stored on the davits with a hydraulic Passerelle for stern to berthing. Fully air conditioned, Belle Aire is the ultimate family cruising platform or alternatively a very capable, safe and stylish blue-water cruising catamaran. We stop at Alert Bay to visit the U’mista Cultural Center and are super exited when we find out that there will be some local dance performances at the long house. After a hearty Poutine we cast off again to a night stop in the Cattle Group before we set sails the next day to cross the Queen Charlotte Straight and past Cape Caution. Oh what a lovely sail! In the last episode, we started to work on getting ready to change the roof on the boathouse. After a visit from the local building inspector a little while ago, we were told that we needed to replace the plastic we have with a membrane that is at least fire retardant. So that's what we did as well as strengthened our structure a lot more as well. The last trusses were just straight from the walls to the peak and did not shed the snow very well. On top of that, the cable we had up wasn't very tight and sagged in the middle. So, we beefed up the entire thing with a new pole at the end of the boathouse and used 5/8th inch elevator cable for all the connections. This gave us a very strong and tight ridge line. With that up, we put up the bow shed trusses that we built in the house the other week. These bowed trusses will give us a much steeper angle for the roof and help shed the snow much better, as well as give us a lot more room! None of this was easy work and took about a week to pull off! Night sailing passage across Gulf Stream from Florida to Bahamas. New Year celebrations in Chub Cay then exploring Nassau. While anchored in Biscayne Bay, just south of Miami, we decide to head to Bahamas rather than directly to Cuba. Our overnight passage takes us east across the gulf steam and onto the Bahamas Bank just north of Bimini. From there we have a wonderful overnight sail across the shallow banks, arriving in Chub Cay on New Years Eve morning. We celebrate New Year in Chub Cay Marina & Resort, then move the 25nm to Nassau, on Providence Island. Nassau is a big cruise liner destination, with a very busy downtown when 5 ships are in port. But we rather enjoy the delights of the adjacent Paradise Island beach and resorts, visiting all that allow us in. From Nassau, our intention was to head south to the Exuma Cays, but a young Australian couple on the boat next to us tempts us to instead continue east and cruise the Eleuthera peninsula and islands before we continue to the Exumas. 30 Dec 2019 - 4 Jan 2020

Dodging ships and fishing boats sailing through a thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Pirates on one side, fishing boats on the other and in the middle a ship superhighway that we need to cross without getting run down and sunk. Why do we do this? Well after one night of that, one of us almost decided not to do it any more and to give up on sailing around the world. Sailing through an area we had been dreading for months we tackle the Malacca straits. Not the easiest passage we have ever attempted. Sailing Florence around the world and living aboard full time is not easy. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfil our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. In this video I am kitesurfing to find waves and swell. While doing that I kitesurf a full circle around a deserted island in the north of Qatar. Will I find any waves? Or at least some kickers to play with? Are there any waves in Qatar? The forecast was great for kitesurfing, with winds blowing about 25 knots and gusts up to 30 knots expected. The kitesurf spot I am at is in Shamal. It is near the town of Ruwais. Kitesurfing here is beautiful although not many people come here for it, maybe because it's quite far away, all the way in north Qatar. As far as Qatar kitesurf spots go, the spot here in Shamal is beautiful but it does come with some risk, there are quite strong tidal currents. Luckily it is very shallow almost everywhere, meaning you can walk to safety should something happen. The actual waves are found a bit further out to sea, be careful kitesurfing here and always have a backup plan! But hopefully this shows you that kitesurfing shamal is really worth it!! Eileen and I had a great time exploring parts of Adang Island while staying at the Adang Island Resort. Our first hike was to Pirate Waterfall, or as the locals call it, Chon Salad Waterfall. Fazemos charter na costa brasileira, e, depois de realizar o sonho de participar da Refeno, soltamos as amarras novamente pra a realização de um novo projeto: As 4 Estações no Horn. Isso mesmo! O Veleiro Caboges já começou a sua descida para as altas latitudes. Desta vez venderemos os trechos de Noronha ao Horn. Vamos participar do Desafio Regata Cabo de Hornos, e faremos Circuitos ao Horn e Circuitos Glaciares na região da Terra do Fogo. Animados? Nós estamos muito.
