Die Dinge, auf die Langfahrtsegler wert legen, sind so unterschiedlich wie die Segler selber. Einige schätzen ein schnelles Schiff, andere eine Achterkajüte, wieder andere einen Rumpf aus Aluminium. An der Messe in Düsseldorf habe ich mir etwas Zeit genommen, MEIN absolutes Traumboot auf Herz und Nieren zu studieren und dieses Video für euch zusammenzustellen. Das für mich perfekte Boot für eine Weltumsegelung ist die Sirius 35DS. Wobei DS für Deckssalon steht und damit habt ihr vermutlich schon eine Idee, was ich an einem Boot schätze: neben Sicherheit und Robustheit ist mir besonders der Lebensraum wichtig. Bei der Sirius 35DS spielt sich das Leben im geschützten Cockpit und im Deckssalon ab, die nahtlos miteinander verbunden sind. So verliert man auch bei Ekelwetter, Sturm und Regen nicht die Lust am Segeln und muss seine Reiseroute nicht auf die Barfussroute beschränken. Die Eignerkabine ist mittschiffs unterhalb vom Salon, sodass man auch an schwelligen Ankerplätzen und auf See gut schlafen kann. Und der begehbare Motorraum mit genug Stauraum für Werkzeug und einer kleinen Werkbank macht den Traum perfekt – denn wir wissen ja alle: als Blauwassersegler repariert man sein Schiff an den schönsten Ankerplätzen der Welt. We catch up with friends who are heading south to New Zealand, and we get 'Double Trouble' ready for the first leg of her journey to the North Pacific. This route is much less travelled by cruising yachts, so we are very excited. We discover an issue with Dave's engine, which turns out to be a simple but expensive fix . We have a problem with the DC to DC inverter chargers , which Rob trouble- shoots and sorts like the legend he is. We find a shortcut to the supermarket and stock up DT for her next ocean crossing. There is still more to discover in Cidade Velha as well as monkeying around. Nat doing monkey see monkey do. As well as being treated to pure Cape Verdean music. We want to someday sail to Praia, but it's not recommended to anchor in the bay. But I heard it's possible to moor at the fishing pier, so we go and ask and it's positive. Then a local friend show us some of his favourite spots. A fab rooftop bar and pool and the city beach. We return to Tarrafal and the boat and get readjusted to life aboard. Lots of wind and swell, but we make the best of it and get familiar with locals. It's a cool spot and we may stay here a little while. Some say it’s The Best Sailing Channel on YouTube!
