Nauticat 38 sailing along the Norwegian coast from Aalesund to Bergen to Haugesund and all the way back home to Sandefjord. Open sea and narrow passages. You will also witness a love story during the trip. What do we mean by that? Well, join us and see what happens! Shout out to @erikaanderaa Erik Aanderaa, NBJS. We passed you and we watched you (on the screen). What else could we do when sailing in the waters around Haugesund? Here is the scrips for the video, just for Youtube to understand what it is all about, so they can show it to the relevant audience: Title: We bought a Nauticat 38 in Norway (Aalesund) and sailed her home. We bought our Nauticat 38 at the West coast of Norway, in a charming town called Ålesund. Norway is a cold place, and in the winter there is snow on the boat, and ice on the water. To have the sea trial, we had to break som ice. We bought the boat, and the next thing to do was to bring my girlfriend to Ålesund as well, to see our new home. She was impressed by the boat, but she could not stand the weather. We urgently need to sail her home, and when possible, even further south. As agreed with the previous owner, he sailed to boat to Bergen, a bit longer south along the coast. And then, the easter 2022, we picked her up there, and sailed her home. I gathered a couple of friends, and we set off from Bergen on our way home to Sandefjord. More than 40 years earlier my father had sailed the same route, and as back up to our digital navigation, we used his old naval charts that he had back in the 70-ies. Now, it’s as easy as following the lines in the map. Even I can do that. South of Bergen we get closer to the town Haugesund. If you follow Norwegian sailers on Youtube, you might have heard about Erik Aanderaa. These are his home waters, and as we approach Haugesund, we watch his channel. After a long day at sea, we stay for the night in Haugesund, the home port of our hero Erik Aanderaa. The crew has been good, and they have deserved a night at the pub. And as you know, what happens in the pub stays in the pub. The next day we continue our way south, in strong wind and cold weather. Then, after another long day at the sea, we arrived at the beautiful small Norwegian island Kvitsøy just outside Stavanger. Early next morning, just as the sun is about to rise, we proceed on our journey southwards. The crew is sailing, and the Skipper is taking a nap. Lets get some sails up, and lets get some speed! Some times we sail above 10 knots! Then we turn at the southernmost tip of Norway, and get into sheltered waters. Arriving at one of the crews summer house, we were welcomed by a happy crowd. Either the pier was short, or the boat was long, but we figured it out. Our brave voyage was duly celebrated, in the woodshed. The crew signs off, and the girlfriend signs on. We have a fantastic voyage north along the eastern coast of Norway. The water is calm and the weather is beautiful. Maybe now is the time to show her what I brought with me? Maybe now the time to ask her to marry me? She said Yes, and now she is my fiancé The big event was celebrated in the beautiful small town called Stavern, in the boat, and together with good friends. From Stavern it is only a few hours to our home port in Sandefjord. We arrive there happy to have finally got ourselves a Nauticat, and even happier to have gotten engaged. Thanks for the trip!

Enjoy a relaxing time boating and sailing on the open ocean. Experience the beauty of boat life and see what its like to go cruising. This sailing yacht tour will inspire your next adventure. Small sailboat Thule sailing last leg of our fantastic journey around the Atlantic. While others fear the heavy weather and difficult conditions of the English Channel, we hardly had any wind at all. The engine was running for one week, and the other yachts we sailed together with had to go the the Netherlands to refuel, and to Denmark to refuel. We just sailed as much as possible, remember, our boat is made for coastal cruising in Scandinavian waters. After crossing the Atlantic Twice we also knew we needed to carry all possible fuel and water. And also, we did not have time to wait for wind. My crew, Lars Peder, got his child only days after we arrived in Norway. Just in time! Falmouth. Dover. English Channel. The Netherlands. Denmark. Norway. Svenner Lighthouse. Sandefjord. Back home. Back home in the Hamster Wheel. Footage of a short sailing trip from Falmouth UK to Sandefjord Norway, with views of the boat deck and maps of the route. Enjoy the peaceful sail and let it inspire your next adventure. This travel vlog captures the beauty of sailing.

"No yacht should attempt the rhumb line course without considerable range under power. Carry all possible fuel and water." This is stated in the Pilot book, and we can confirm that it's true. Small boat crossing the Atlantic Ocean in calm weather and strong winds. Helping another yacht in need of fuel in the middle of the Atlantic. Sailing from Antigua in the West Indies, to Horta, Faial, Azores. Joined by Dolphins and Whales. The yacht is a Comfortina 32, made in Sweden for coastal cruising and racing. This boat, with it's fin keel, spade rudder and 7/8 fractional rig was never build for crossing an ocean. Only problem was that we were young and unexperienced, so we did not know. Luckily we survived and came home to tell the story. I told the story in several Norwegian sailing magazines and I also wrote two books about this voyage. Some years after our trip, Youtube was launched. Now, 22 years after the last ocean crossing I have got time to edit and publish on youtube. The playlist of Thule sailing around the Atlantic is soon over, and this episode is showing our sailing back across the ocean from the Caribbean to Europe. Next episode will be from the Azores to the UK and then finally back to Norway. Stay tuned. The music in this video is dowloaded from Youtube Studio, and I need to tell you the following: Jenny's Theme by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Artist: http://audionautix.com/ If you have any thoughts, comments, questions or similar, please do not hesitate to write a comment below. I really like to inspire you to sail further. Best regards from Jarle "Charlie", Skipper of the S/Y Thule (And now, 2025, skipper of the S/Y Maja, a 1982 Nauticat 38) Fair winds to you all. See you at the sea!

Have a look at beautiful classic yachts like the Velsheda, the Windrose, Alexandra Louise. Onboard the sailing vessel Irene from 1907, we raced against these yachts. Absolutely unable to win, we had a great time watching these yachts pass us. Once outside the harbor, we stoped her and went for a swim.

Small boat, shorthanded and with a small child. No worries. In this episode of Thule's adventures in 2003 you will experience both Barbados and Tobago. These are beautiful islands that many people don't get to visit. If you sail the ARC you will often not get to these islands. On our voyage we sailed from the Canaries directly to Barbados. After a few weeks there we sailed on to Tobago. After Tobago we sailed to Grenada, but that's in the next episode. As in this entire series, there are some important clips missing, and the video quality is not what it is today. This is back in 2003, 2 years before Youtube was launched. When we filmed this it was to send video cassettes back to Norway, so that those back home could follow our adventures. Now, over 20 years later, we have edited them to a format suitable for Youtube. We hope you enjoy this. Stay tuned, and remember the next episode which starts in Grenada.

The Sheer Opulence of a Knysna 500 Catamaran. This pre owned vessel is on offer at $720 000 USD. Docked in Western Cape, South Africa
Small boat (32 foot) crossing the Atlantic Ocean with a limited crew. The Comfortina 32 sailboat was never made for crossing an ocean, but we did not understand that at that time. We were young and naive and we just set off in the boat we had. Crossing the Atlantic westbound with a small sailboat shorthanded was easy, scary, exciting, demanding, frustrating and fun. And what did we learn? Go small, go simple and go now. You will never miss one more day at work! On our crossing we had more days with calm that we had with gale force. We wished for more wind on half our passage, but in retrospect it was better to have less wind than too much wind.
In this episode, we finish provisioning in Darwin and set sail on our first major passage towards Cairns! After weeks of prep, it’s finally time to leave and embrace life on the ocean.
